I wanted this book series SO BAD as a middle schooler, so I couldn't pass this up. Gonna knock this off the "things I couldn't afford as a kid but now that I'm a stunted middle ager" list. lemme find it.... there it is! right above "Castle Greyskull", but right before "laserdisc player"

I bought the complete set back in the late 80s. Still have them all, minus one that my boss borrowed & never returned. (He got fired so never saw him again to get it back.) Sadly, most of the info is so out of date they're more for decoration than anything else.

I love this set and the Enchanted Worlds
EnergyUnfair6726@reddit
Read the book

I still have this set and another they produced.

I had dreams when napping on the couch that these commercials narrated. Very strange dreams

A few volumes found in thrift stores are on my bookshelves.

Having flashbacks to the library and reading these books over and over. Congrats on the purchase OP

At first glance, I thought the picture at the bottom was someone bending over in booty shorts. I need to stop getting on the internet before I'm fully awake. π€¦ββοΈ

My aunt had the time life fantasy books, Ghosts, Faeries, Dragons, Irish Mytha
Agreeable_Tonight807@reddit
I always learned to love fantasies books. I remember first time I read Lord of the Rings. I was 8th grade in honors English and nobody told how awesome the series was.
ktzamama@reddit
Looooooved these books. I was always borrowing them from the library.

If you wanting them, I would suggest haunting estate sales. I picked up the set for a quarter apiece. Sadily, I was a little disappointed after reading them. Much like trying to watch old cartoons from the 70's and 80's.. you can't always go back
Ok-Toe3535@reddit
They were more satisfying to look at & not actually read.

I wanted those books so bad! My dad has the WW2 Time Life Books, those are cool.

Upon getting them later in life: they're not actually super fun reads, but they're really pretty!
retro_lady@reddit
My mom had a few of these. lol

I am super jealous right now!

I didn't have this set but it reminds me of the time my grandfather gifted me his Time Life's Man Myth & Magic set when I was in middle school. I was obsessed with them.
MrXero@reddit
We had a bunch of these when I was growing up. My parents were great about helping me find a reason to read.

i still have my UFO one

I had most of the Wizards & Witches series. Loved them!
TOW2Bguy@reddit
Didn't know that one was a thing. Must investigate.
northern-mi-chick@reddit
I guess it was the Enchanted World series - the first book was Wizards and Witches. I had about 3/4 of that set. Loved them. They were pricey and I just looked them up on eBay. The full sent is going for $200 - $300!
TOW2Bguy@reddit
Ah yes. Wanted those too

I always wanted this series!!!! πΈπ½π«β‘οΈπ»

I just want to know if the UFO book was legit i remember always wanting the whole set but in a Mexican household it was definitely a no go

Too many Chupacabra and Cucuy?
I would be curious if other language versions were available and if changes were done to swap myths and legends appropriate to the cultures.
AgentV1967@reddit
Good enough for entertainment; I don't take it seriously.
Aggravating_Cable_32@reddit
We had a couple of these, but also the whole Enchanted World book set; I loved & read them all by the time I was 8. I still have a couple somewhere in storage.
Butterfly_Cat777@reddit
I have the whole Enchanted World set, too! π

Ah I really want the enchanted world set!

Did you all ever read the blue marble book mysteries of the unknown? Itβs on the internet archive.
No-Ambition7750@reddit
I had a few of these way back when. My mom cancelled us after we got the witches book, also sending it back for whatever reason. I have since picked them all up on the cheap, flipping through them every so often.
Butterfly_Cat777@reddit
I bought all of these and I still have them! LOL. I haven't read them in years, though, so they are currently neglected and gathering dust.
nadiaco@reddit
I read these all. Got at Library

I have 2 cardboard sleeves with 3 books each in them sitting flat on my mantle for decoration right now!

Damn. Old memory jogged. Totally forgot about those books

I was telling my wife about these two weeks ago. I wanted them so bad and my parents wouldn't go for it.

OMG⦠I had this set of books! Donated them to a school book drive like 15 years ago.
PinkyLeopard2922@reddit
My dad was a preacher so we were not allowed to have these blasphemous occult books but I wanted them VERY badly. As an adult I thrifted several of them and enjoyed them for a few years before sending them back to a thrift.
Ok-Toe3535@reddit
I had this entire series. ππ
Reflective_Robot@reddit
We had them in our middle-school library. It was rare for them to be on the shelves. Definitely sparked excitement among my friends group when we had one in our hands.
