Turkey will infringe the free expression, free speech rights, privacy rights of its people while ensuring that anonymity goes into the dirt. I'm done pretending it isn't anything but a government power grab, an overreach.

The OS has a binary flag that states the user is over 18. The claims that this somehow compromises your privacy are completely ridiculous, particularly if you already have a Facebook/linkedin/etc account or are subject to online dataveillance without using adblockers.

Yeah, the whole Reddit community was cheering loudly that “Twitter is finally going to be restricted!!!” - and now every country is going to implement global user monitoring under the guise of child protection. It wouldn’t be so bad if this were the first time, but there are plenty of examples of this happening before, and yet it works every single time. People just don’t learn.
