Why do people not like mass transit in Dallas? But then complain about traffic…

You’re going to get a lot of folks here blaming the other riders for the “poor” conditions. Maybe if we better cared for the unhoused they wouldn’t rely on the transit system for shelter. As a transient.
There needs to be a huge attitude change but it’s going to take time to un-brainwash everyone so it becomes more of a financial priority in this city. Also, our city government has been known to do shady shit behind doors against the interests of the public and our budget. See City Hall debacle.
It’s a big tangled mess with lots of contributing factors.
More simply put, people want to pick the most conveniently explained reason they don’t ride. One can avoid learning more about it, leading to them either doubling-down on their hypocrisy, ignoring the question altogether, or maybe a few would actually understand it’s complex and try to shift how they engage with the conversation at the very least.
Regardless, people are going to continue to both bitch about the traffic they create and deny any good alternative exists.

Homeless people and overall riff raff. Had 2 young kids try to fight me once for no reason.

Probably cause they like to feel independent when commuting. Also everything in DFW is so far apart compared to other mass transit cities. If it was a more compact place then mass transit would be more popular.

Low-key, the trains are good however there used to be a really horrible homeless problem and now it’s much much more manageable
I think the typical person who comes to Texas values freedom that a car provides so only being limited to where the train takes you is why people don’t use much compared to other similar cities like Boston

They’re useful. It’d be nice if the frequency was higher, though, and that’ll never happen as long as we share the system with people trying to destroy it.
If, for nothing else, it’s great for your median commuter, going to the AAC, State Fair, Zoo, white rock lake, etc. it’s more of an issue with not having enough frequency to make it consistently useful.
