Something is wrong if your PS5 is tripping a 2000w inverter.
But if you'd rather do the portable, since you have an inverter.. I'm a fan of ecoflow. I use them for my house. I have a couple of their delta 3+ and I've been pretty satisfied. And if you ever get your inverter fixed, you can toss it in your house with a couple solar panels to run your fridge or whatnot.

An inverter is your easiest solution. You could get a power station, but in all honesty charging it to use in your off hours you’d need an inverter as well. Might as well skip a step.

Company has a 2000w one that limits me to either having my ps5 plugged in or T-Mobile home internet plugged in 🫠 even when running the truck it still trips it

Then that isn't a 2000w inverter or something is wrong with it. I have a 2000w inverter and I'm on my desktop right now with a monitor and a fridge running.

Tbh unsure. I’m able to run my microwave with the tv on and my WiFi,laptop cord and cpap machine plugged in but get issues with just the ps5 and the WiFi. It’s the limited edition Spider-Man 2 one if that helps

At one point I had a PS5 and a 42" OLED in my truck but I never had an issue, I honestly don't know what to say aside from yours must be faulty lmao. I mean, maybe yours isn't a pure sine wave inverter and that's causing some type of issue but hard to say.

Many don't know this, but its likely the cables running to it. Could also be a cheap inverter. I'm in a brand new pete and they didn't use the right size cable, but I also don't have a cheap inverter in here either. The cable should technically be the same circumference as your thumb, 1/0 gauge. But most come from the factory at half that, and many installed after market, are even smaller then what's done at the factory.
In the most simplist terms, electricity is lost to resistance. The longer the cable, the more resistance there is. Resistance is reduced based on the thickness of the cable and type of cable. Copper strand cable is best.

Probably just a really cheap one maybe. It’s in a 22 freightliner so yeah 😂 but yea will definitely see what I can do. Might just go power bank worst case scenario

There's obviously something wrong with your inverter if using just over 10% of its rated capacity is tripping the circuit. My truck also has a 2000w inverter and I can run the TV, ps5, and the microwave all at once when I'm making dinner. The only time I have to be careful is when I'm having to microwave and air fry.

Probably true, have to wait till Monday to see if the techs will install one I purchase with the Sine wave thats supposed to be good. If so will purchase a 3000w one

That'll honestly be your best bet. There's no point to buying yourself a power station when your truck should be able to handle what you want to do with it. Make it the shop's problem. Show them how it trips so easily. They may just replace your inverter for one that actually works how it should.

I'm deep in the overlanding scene so between my SO and I we have 6 of them. To answer your question I'm gonna make some assumptions.
A quick google search says that a PS5 consumes about 200 watts/hr during gaming. So a 5 hour session would deplete a 1000 watt power station completely, probably closer to 4 hours with AC inverter inefficiencies and running the TV as well. Then to recharge it from just the cig lighter socket would be 10 hours because you can only pull 100 watts from that socket. This is not a good setup. I'm also assuming you don't have an APU or inverter in your truck already.
Here is how I would do it for such a heavy draw, this isn't going to be cheap. 2000 watt minimum power station so you aren't running it flat every day and shortening it's life and a DC to DC charger to shorten recharge times.
Using good quality middle of the road brands you're looking at about $800 for the power station (Bluetti Elite 200) and $250 for the charger (Bluetti Charger 1). You could drop down to a 1000 watt station for about $400 but you are going to be working that thing hard and it's not gonna last.
As you can see this easily exceeds the cost of your PS5. What's the power situation in your sleeper right now? Is there no existing inverter tied to the truck battery already?

Company inverter is a 2000w one but not the sine wave ones and unfortunately even with just the ps5 and my t mobile WiFi plugged in it trips it every time
Chamber53@reddit
Out of curiosity, why a whole portable supply is needed if it’s only for using it “on your truck” as opposed to using a simple inverter?

One of the main things to consider is how will you recharge the station .
Cig lighter is my guess. See what your cig lighter is specced for output and try to find something that has a DC input of around 75% of that number. In my experience you don't want to pull cig lighters at 100 percent for long.might also look into a portable solar panel in case you want to use it but are stopped for a decent amount of time.
How many hours are you wanting it to operate between recharges?

2-3hrs minimum

Jackary is the main one I see
