There’s a TA on exit 46 on i44 in MO that’s super nice. Because it’s almost brand new and we haven’t trashed it yet.
VitoVino@reddit
Some of them surprise you with Restaurants the others don't have. I've seen Sbarro's, Mexican authentic, and even a Boston Market in Denton TX.
bizzywhipped@reddit (OP)
Restaurants inside don’t count and neither does the barber, its owner management.
VitoVino@reddit
Things I like. You like managers...
brandmonkey@reddit
They are always gross
n0funeral@reddit
TA/Petro fuel island c-store hot food counter is sometimes better than the other chain truck stops. Pilot/Flying J's are always full with people parking fucked up. Loves is all rookies and guys who don't mind waiting an hour for a shower. TA/Petro always look like a skidmark but there's usually plenty of parking and other drivers are less likely to ding your ride
Environmental-Pear40@reddit
I like black bear diner, 🤷.
bizzywhipped@reddit (OP)
At least you didn’t say Iron Skillet but restaurants don’t count, it’s own management.
deezkeys098@reddit
You forgot Popeyes
bizzywhipped@reddit (OP)
You’re not wrong, your comment made me stop by a TA and grab a Popeyes sandwich but Restaurants inside don’t count and neither does the barber, its own management.

Coffee over loves.
TruckerBiscuit@reddit
Love's coffee has really gone in the shitter.
bizzywhipped@reddit (OP)
Talking to another trainer, he & trainee disagreed over coffee. One said TA/P other FJ/P, it came to blows … weird over coffee
Heather_Val@reddit
I feel like Pilot has the best coffee. And TA does taste like drinking motor oil. But loves is like Hella fucking water down.
Environmental-Pear40@reddit
This is objectively correct.
truckingham@reddit
Blasphemy
Wazzymustard@reddit
TA/Petros have been there for me when the pilot lets me down. The ones in Fort Wayne, Rochelle, and on 65 between indy and chicago came in clutch
Environmental-Pear40@reddit
Yeah when it's late and my hours are low I always know there's a TA or Petro there for me, probably.
polarjunkie@reddit
If we are talking about the same Rochelle they finished the year+ long install of the new pumps and shut down the old fuel building. You can finally get def there. The Mexican restaurant inside is absolutely some of the best food you can get at any truck stop. Plenty of parking. Still don't like ta/petros but the food makes the stop worth it.
blincluc@reddit
TA used to let me drop my trailer when im on hometime, if I paid for a reserved spot. They don't anymore, so now I go to pilot
XiangJiang@reddit
If you ask they’ll say they won’t let you. But if you do it and then come back the same day, has there been a problem with that?
blincluc@reddit
Haven't done that, I usually need 3 or 4 days. I see a few drop trailers in the free spots though but im not about to try that
jyster1996@reddit
There’s a dropped trailer at the pilot I’m in VA. Is that you? Lol
kingsnow18@reddit
There's a few TAs that are awesome. With great food options and newly renovated. But for the most part, they suck.
MoombahMike@reddit
Instant showers, no egregious wait times ( I shower around 1900)
bizzywhipped@reddit (OP)
Yeah but those showers, you’ve been to Love’s & Flying J, right?
HouseZestyclose932@reddit
There’s a reason there’s no line lol
Tots989135@reddit
I'd rather take a hoe bath in a roadside puddle than shower at TA
SheepherderHopeful55@reddit
1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Different_Zone_8999@reddit
They have cold hazelnut creamer with extreme 20 coffee and their jugs of water are somewhat cheap
HouseZestyclose932@reddit
A TA rep came to our company and asked us what’s the biggest issue and I said TAs and Petros need REPAVING, cleanup, remodels inside etc. and the rep said “which one are you talking about?” And I said all of them lol
