E100 bus Airport ticket

Hello, I was on E100 bus and i bought the ticket on board paying contactless with card.
While everywhere I see the ticket costs 2200 HUF today I checked my account and I paid 5000 HUF!
What is this about ? I was not able to check the price earlier cause on the bank application it was saying just card verification without any amount. The 5000 HUF appeared only few hours later. That s more than twice the normal price!

Yes, you have to go to the last station of Metro Line M3 (Kőbánya-Kispest), but this is the cheapest option to go to the airport, this is Airport Express bus 200E

I get on this bus a lot, and I see a lot of people just tapping their card without looking at the screen. Sorry this happened to you, it’s quite frustrating.
When you pay on board, you select the amount of tickets you want. The person in front of you may have selected 2 tickets, so when you went up, it was still set to 2 tickets. So yeah, you may have accidentally paid for 2.

The price is 2500 so you payed exactly double. Did you check the screen before tapping? You may have bought two tickets at the same time.

Well indeed there was some error on the screen, and seemed that the first transaction was not successful. It was some yellow screen. Then just did it again and I got green screen and have nice trip message.

You could possibly get the second one reversed, talk to your bank! My bank actually calls me every time there are 2 identical consecutive charges.

If you are downtown there is a customer service office in the subway at Deák tér that is open today. They may be able to help you the quickest. Otherwise an email could work.

If you did buy two tickets, the second one will still be in your app, so you can easily verify that that's what happened. You bought a return, effectively and it can be used for your ride back to the airport.

But i have it only in my bank application, how can I check the ticket itself? Even if I want to show to a ticket inspector. I have only the payment proof.

So you didn't buy it in the app, just tapped in with your bank card? And it was just you boarding? Then talk to a ticket office... not sure how far you'll get, but double payment shouldn't even be possible in those circumstances.

As already written, the ticket is 2.500 HUF. 2 were accidentally purchased, there can be no other explanation. Although there are scams in Budapest, this was not one, but an innocent mistake either on your part, or if someone was trying to help, then on their part, because it was in no one's interest for you to buy 2.

It's 2500 HUF since Oct 2025.
