Yes. Such a shame chihuahuas are so hated. They are hardly aggressive and I believe it’s all on the owner and how it’s trained especially in youth. My mom had 3 chihuahua babies when I was young and all were so sweet 😭 2 of them are almost 20 now

You mean the dog found your roommate. Set up some dog infrastructure, bowl for food along with food storage bins, water bowl with the top fill. Leash or dog door, collar and name tag. If he isn’t potty trained be ready to go bring him outside all the time for him to pee then reward when he pees.

Well, at least you tried. Check local groups, check for signs, I doubt he got that far from home. Hopefully he's just an escape artist and not abandoned.

Also - on the off chance you have a leash, maybe walk where you found him and see if he acts like he knows the place. If he's got a routine he might take you on his walk and end up at his door.

If you want to keep him since there is no chip I would book a vet visit to get vaccines/fixed. Not sure what the shelter capacity is at right now- they’re always flooded with strays that they have to put down due to overcrowding sadly.

Take him to any vet and they will scan for a chip for free. Post them on next door as well. Make sure you get photo proof, because some people suck.
