This is the last cold front of the year! Last chance to blow up your kitchen with heat all day long before 100° days. Just got done shopping. What are we cooking?

Available_Draw8612@reddit
Gumbo for sure
Cansum1helpme@reddit
Just finished up some homemade pizza.
SnowJiu13@reddit
All of that cost you like $50. Prices are insane right now
Fabulous_Hand2314@reddit (OP)
I only used half the chicken so the rest comes out to about $30 so about $5 a full serving
WhiteWitchWannabe@reddit
I think I'm gonna do beans and oxtails
pacotaco80@reddit
We rocked a crawfish boil at my place. Perfect weather for it
zwat28@reddit
Last Sunday by chance? That would have been premium weather for it
yellowsun_97@reddit
I make pozole every week. It can be 40 degrees or 100 degrees. I’m still eating it.
zwat28@reddit
Agree with the other guy, hit us with the recipe
Distribution-Radiant@reddit
Former El Pasoan here. I loooooove me some pozole.
I need to get my mom's recipe next time I see her.
Careful_Philosophy_9@reddit
Do you have a recipe to share? My neighbor would invite me over to eat it when I lived elsewhere and I always enjoyed it.
Distribution-Radiant@reddit
Send me a bowl when you're done.

Pic of final product? I love gumbo. During the summer me and my wife cook with a crockpot and toaster oven.
Fabulous_Hand2314@reddit (OP)
It won’t let me reply with images in this sub or let me edit post to add pics. I already put it up but I’ll post it somewhere else tomorrow and try to link you. All of my dreams came true.
Bigfartz69420@reddit
do you just eat gazpacho all summer or just rely on like an air fryer or something?
Fabulous_Hand2314@reddit (OP)
Salads, Sammies, potato salad, outdoor grilling bbq, pasta salad, some fasting, cup of cold tom soup w grilled cheese, fresh fruits, all the seasonal vegggies and fruits. Couple-a-bananas. Breakfast smoothies… idk 🤷♂️
thegregh91@reddit
Gexa gave me flat rate electric. My summer is gonna be cool lol
Fabulous_Hand2314@reddit (OP)
That sounds pretty awesome BUT keep in mind if you crank that AC to get it super low all the time it can freeze up you unit and take maybe a whole day to thaw out and because all of the interior furniture and EVERYTHING in your entire house is like 82° it will take maybe an additional day to cool everything else back down to normal. Don't ask me how I know.
BitGladius@reddit
Lol my college landlord scared my roommate by going over all the things that break the AC or cause water damage, you'd get the same if it's struggling to keep up because you turned it completely off while you were out of town.
Wild_Arm34@reddit
Nice grilling temps under covered patio
big-dal-tex@reddit
How’s the roux goin
Fabulous_Hand2314@reddit (OP)
bruhhh, I made a dry roux in the oven. It was sooooo easy. I haven't added it yet but its the perfect brown. youtube America's Test Kitchen. If this works (which it should) I am never going back!
big-dal-tex@reddit
Never heard of that before! Down the rabbit hole I go
KM964@reddit
I did a chicken breast with garlic herb bread crumbs. Came out pretty solid.
LetMePre-Say@reddit
I thought last week was the last cold front of the year, according to... you?
https://old.reddit.com/r/Dallas/comments/1s5cxww/last_cold_front_of_the_year_last_chance_to_blow/
Also do you not realize that cold fronts happen in the summer? And in the fall? And in the winter? You're saying none of those are going to happen... after being so suddenly wrong last time you posted this?
Fabulous_Hand2314@reddit (OP)
I am willing to be wrong and post this every weekend if it keeps the temperatures down!
Lurcher99@reddit
Doing gods work!
CrookedFinger@reddit
I used that sausage to make gumbo during the last cold snap. Turned out well.
Fabulous_Hand2314@reddit (OP)

CrookedFinger@reddit
Did the same. 😀 We usually have sausage from south Louisiana but we’re out. It was comparable. Enjoy.
