Not hey lol
jevus2006@reddit
I dunno why but I can't seem to pay attention in that stadium.
SubstantialPoet8468@reddit
The acoustics SUCK
minlillabjoern@reddit
Shit… so you’re telling me when I see the Eagles there next month, it’s going to suck…
Ponder_4622@reddit
I saw Linkin Park in that hollow box. It was freaking awful. I didn't recognize the songs and I had ear plugs. My hearing was shot for days.
minlillabjoern@reddit
Even with earplugs? Yikes.
Ponder_4622@reddit
Worst $300 ever spent on tickets. Great light show tho. Luckily I had seen them at Reunion years before.
jevus2006@reddit
I went for My Chemical Romance. It was fine being on the field but it could have just been me not caring since it was my first time seeing them and just wanted to enjoy the moment. Granted, I rarely go to concerts so I may just not know any better.
minlillabjoern@reddit
I'm sort of in the same boat in that I know. the Eagles are well past their prime, but they're a bucket-list band for me. So it doesn't have to be all that great. But it's nice to know going in what it might be like.
SubstantialPoet8468@reddit
Most likely yeah. Maybe it’s better if youre on the field and theyre also on the field. But in the stands for a game it absolutely blows
packetssniffer@reddit
I went to 3 graduations held in this stadium.
The acoustics are terrible. Can't make out anything anyone said.
Thick_Hedgehog_6979@reddit
I have a love/hate relationship with the new ballpark. I LOVED sitting in the heat at the old ballpark. You got used to it and it was part of the home field advantage. The new ballpark is nice for being climate control BUT it's so loud and the atmosphere just feels sterile. ALSO THEY GOT RID THE CLASSIC GARLIC FRIES WHEN THEY MOVED! They use this powedery cheesey/garlic with no oil. It doen't stick to the fries. The old ballpark's garlic fries used fresh garlic! The difference is night and day.
jevus2006@reddit
I would have thought I could hear the announcer clearly seeing as it's a new stadium. Nope.
AnxietyDepressedFun@reddit
I have to wear sunglasses the whole time in that stadium or I have a migraine by the 4th inning.
MadScallop@reddit
Also today with the roof closed and it being kind of gloomy sunlight conditions haha.
Looks like a total snooze fest today.
Psykohistorian@reddit
indoor ballparks are trash
Tooters-N-Floof@reddit
The rangers stadium is a mini mall with baseball in the background- id rather sweat my tush off at a rough riders game outdoors
Friendly-Win1457@reddit
Fr, wish we could go back to the old stadium.
PartTimeWarrior988@reddit
I don’t. That stadium made me feel like an egg in a frying pan
Friendly-Win1457@reddit
😂😂😂 fair enough, I had a moment like that once there.
arlenroy@reddit
We went one father's day, I had a discount through my employer so I got seats right behind the Rangers dugout. It was when Yu Darvish was first with the team and I remember it was a scorcher that day, a lot of people came just to see him pitch. I remember between innings you'd see him talking to other people right outside the dugout, the side that faces the bullpen. Around the 3rd-4th inning he had something hanging from the inside of his arm, he briefly came out and was talking to someone, then went back in. A couple innings later another guy is warming up in the pen, I see him talking to that guy and I see it. He had an IV line taped to his arm, he was getting IV fluids between innings, because of the sun just blasting him the entire time. I agree that the old ball field was beautiful, it was a great park! But god damn, when players are getting IV bags because they just can't stay hydrated enough, even with plenty of fluids available, because the heat is cooking you, might look at other options. Still wish they'd open the roof more.
TravelTheWorldDan@reddit
I wish we could go back to the old old stadium. I miss the late 80s, Nolan Ryan days.
Psykohistorian@reddit
yes actually!
pot8odragon@reddit
Crazy that it’s 83 outside and the roof is closed. I don’t mind it when it’s 100 in July and August, but it should never be closed in the early part of the season
OddS0cks@reddit
It’s like cowboys stadium, They never have it open no matter the weather
Responsible-Idea3794@reddit
The new stadium has terrible ambiance. It’s loud and corporate, rarely a moment when it’s quiet. Great when it’s 100 outside, but you lose some of the culture of what makes baseball great.
Carey251@reddit
The Rangers stadium is to Baseball what the DFW is to cities with a pulse. Clean, Corporate, and completely void of well… anything. It’s big yet it feels empty. It misses all the elements that make a great baseball stadium and a great baseball experience.
PrefersEarlGrey@reddit
If you're bored in DFW it's because you're boring, not DFW.
Quite literally everything you can want to do except for mountains or beaches is within an hour and most of it is world class.
Carey251@reddit
I said nothing about boredom. I said it lacks flavor and personality. Go to most up and coming suburbs in DFW and you’ll find miles of cookie cutter homes built with toothpicks in the middle of what was once a corn field. Not a tree, piece of artwork, original architecture , non chain restaurant, etc in sight. Eat, shop, and drink to fill the void.
PrefersEarlGrey@reddit
I can't go outside for you, you have to leave the house to experience what you're saying we don't have. We've got all of that and more, here's a short list of places in the suburbs with those exact things but there's so many more than the few listed here
Trees and parks: Kaleidoscope Park
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve
Oak Point Nature Preserve
Russell Creek Park and Greenbelt
Outdoor artwork:
Texas Sculpture Garden Storeybook Trail Storeybook Trail
Random chipmunk and Cheetos sculpture
Dragon Park
Original architecture: We literally have Victorian Era homes in Mckinney
Non chain restaurants: Like this one just Google, I'd say you'd have to try to not find family owned restaurants
Saltlight Station Vietnamese
Enzo's Deli and Imports
We even have a Russian banya
Optimistiqueone@reddit
That's the suburbs, dallas proper has these things. The suburbs are very cookie cutter and bland though.
IAmTurdFerguson@reddit
"the DFW"
Fucking three-finger meme fight here
BitGladius@reddit
Is that off the 35?
Carey251@reddit
Thanks professor
dr_hankjr@reddit
So sterile it need an HOA
TorkBombs@reddit
And the Ballpark in Arlington was so cool, I thought. Why didn't they have the foresight to build that park with a retractable roof?
BitGladius@reddit
Yeah - I remember the ballpark in Arlington having more going on. I dragged my dad to the new stadium a few years ago and it was so dead, but the last sporting event I'd been to was college football in the student section.
cjdeck1@reddit
Yeah I went to a couple games in the old ballpark when it was 100+ and I certainly may don’t miss that. But at least that park had character.
H2Ospecialist@reddit
It feels like a shopping mall. I hate it.
Goetia-@reddit
I went to a concert there. Terrible all around, especially the audio.

Silent_Scientist_991@reddit
I live in Dallas county (born and raised) and I love going to a baseball game.
But I detest driving to Arlington and refuse to see a game there.
In the last couple of years, I HAVE seen games in St. Louis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Houston, Chicacgo, Boston, Seattle, and San Fran...all great downtown stadiums that are easy to get to by train/mass transit.
F Arlington, and F The Rangers for not relocating the stadium to a downtown area.
Patrick42985@reddit
I’m a Dodger fan that grew up going to Dodger games. But living out here, I want to like the Rangers ballpark and make going to Rangers games a thing during the summer.
It’s just hard to do for some of the reasons you mentioned. I don’t feel like jumping through hoops to catch a game for a team I’m not even a fan of. I’m not a Mavs or Stars fan either. But I go to their games pretty frequently because of the ease and convenience of it. I can easily take Dart to the games and makes those spontaneous game trips much more convenient. It’s going to be annoying when both of them move out the AAC. The fact that they deliberately don’t have any type of public transportation that goes to the ballpark is annoying. I don’t feel like driving or most likely taking uber since I’ll be drinking most likely.
I’ve been to a bunch of other ballparks throughout the country and ease and convenience is one thing I appreciate. Hell getting to Dodger Stadium was a pain in the ass growing up, it still is but at least it’s gotten better with some of the shuttles that go to the ballpark. But ease of getting to the ballpark is huge. I love how in Minneapolis the light rail that goes to target field is right under the airport. I love how both Chicago ballparks are easy to get to. That convenience aspect is huge for me.
Silent_Scientist_991@reddit
Everything you said is 100% true.
I'll take in a Mavs or Stars game from time to time, but I'm done traipsing all the way out to stupid Arlington.
I travel a lot and taking in a ballgame is so nice at the downtown parks or places accessible by train. It's ridiculous that we have a 40K seat ballpark and a 100K stadium sitting right next to each other and neither are accessible by any kind of mass transit.
And we know why - fucking greed.
Patrick42985@reddit
I’m the same with the traveling and going to other ballparks. I’m trying to hit all 30. I got 9 left. But seeing how easily accessible some of the other ballparks are. It’s frustrating when Arlington wants to be deliberately secluded. I don’t mind driving to a game. But don’t deliberately make that or uber my only option because a lot of times I just want to be able to enjoy the game with minimal commute effort needed.
I hope they get nationally shamed over that this summer when the World Cup is out here and people coming from all over the world are shocked when it’s hot as hell and getting to Arlington is a pain in the ass.
BabyBearMan@reddit
Rangers hate the Astros so much, they are mocking them by impersonating their shitty stadium.

I grew up a baseball fan, attend games at old Arlington stadium…. Just boring now. Either way go Rangers! Touchdown! 🏈
ratfink_111@reddit
Baseball does suck but if you ever have to go, minor league games are fun. The smaller stadium makes it more entertaining.
getoffmenya@reddit (OP)
I’ll try that next time!
IAmTurdFerguson@reddit
Closing the roof on a nice day like this is a fucking joke.

baseball does not suck...and 😝
jraymcmurray@reddit
If you don't suck you don't have to tell people. Also, they didn't make all those rule changes because they were scared of how awesome everyone thinks baseball is.
funnybones14@reddit
Yea exactly. That’s why the NFL and NBA also constantly add changes to the game right?
whriskeybizness@reddit
I grew up loving the rangers but god damn do I have that stadium
