Lost key for ABUS Bosch Downtube Battery Lock – need help removing battery

Hi,
I’ve lost the key to my ABUS Bosch Downtube Battery Lock on my Cube e-MTB and I just need to get the battery off the bike. I’m fine with breaking the lock since I’ll be buying a new one anyway.
I’ve already removed the cover. Is drilling out the lock cylinder my best option at this point? I’ve read that you need to drill straight through the barrel all the way, working up in drill bit size until the locking tab drops and releases the battery. Is that correct, and what size drill bit would you recommend?
Thanks

This doesn't work on every bike like this, but sometimes you can unscrew the entire battery and mount from the other end and simply remove the old lock with no need for keys or drilling. Stupid design, but don't blame me.

Oh come on, the first thing an e-bike owner gets is a card specifically made to deal with situations like that.
I'm heavily leaning towards other commenters. OP was either stoned like fuck when recieving his bice and forgot or it is stolen.

Can confirm as a Bosch Abus system owner, yes, I have a bice ID card specifically for this situation.

Hmmmm? Seems like you should be able to figure this out through the company you purchased it from

Key number will be on your receipt, and good bike shops will have linked this to your bike serial number.
Otherwise, I suspect you're messing with a bike that may not legally be yours.

Bringing your bike and receipt to the shop you bought it, and they will help you out.
Unless you stole it, which is likely the case here.
