Hello all, My name is Doug and I have myself a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban K2500 Cheyenne. I bought this thing from Nevada in late 2025 and slowly I’ve started to make it my budget trail build. I started by getting the truck running and driving good, which consisted of me replacing plugs, new air filter, and putting a “new” shock in the front right of the truck (which luckily on these pre 95 GMT400s is a piece of cake)
Now as it sits I have a 6 inch superlift lift kit that I found on marketplace that’s currently waiting to get put in the truck, which once that goes in I’m gonna do a GMT800 big brake swap, and then start pulling parts from the interior to start redoing the interior, new sound deadening, dash pad, Etc.
any criticism is welcome, and if anyone in the Northern California area has spare parts lying around I’d be interested in asking what you have if you’re willing to sell.

Never been a fan of lift kits on something that sees ANY kind of regular highway or daily driver miles. It's just way to much $ spent on something that causes far too much premature wear and tear on tires, suspension, and steering components. I mean come on, even after market parts DO NOT last forever. They wear out too. Replacing them when needed is not a simple matter of going to the parts store and getting it right then and there. Nope; gotta order it...hope it doesn't get beat to hell or damaged in shipping, and THEN install it. That's fine, until you are off road, in the boonies, alone, and the ball joint or control arm is split in half. Then what??? (yes, voice of experience there...)

I’m well aware of the risks of throwing a lift kit on, I’m in the process of making myself an “oh shit” box that I can have access to anywhere I go. I’m not gonna be driving this thing a bajillion miles on the highway, the farthest I’ll go with it is like Truckee/Tahoe area. I’m willing to spend extra to have fun. That’s the whole point of building this truck how I am. It’s to have fun and enjoy what I have. Yeah it’s gonna break every now and then, and yeah I’d run the risk of having to replace a ton of parts, but that’s the fun part. Breathing life back into old vehicles after you’ve broken them after having fun with them means that once it’s fixed, you get the reward of having fun again. I’m only 20, I never got to have a project in highschool, to make up for that this is my baby, my project, my fun weekend trail rig. That’s what owning a project is all about

Sounds like ya got a plan, have fun with it! I've built a few jeeps and off road "toys" myself. Wasn't tryin to rain on anyone's parade. I shoulda built a 'burban myself instead of one of those Jeeps. I like the burbs better anyway -esp for camping or overnight trips. Much. More. Room.....for everything/one. hehe It's just not easy to find a 90's 2500 series GMT up here in the snow/rust belt these days.
