You will probably need a Ouija board to ask her out.
DJTilapia@reddit
You can just say “woman.” This is a picture of a woman assembling Sten guns.
EdgarsRavens@reddit
Female is an adjective, woman is a noun.
“A woman British worker” is a very clunky, arguably grammatically incorrect, sentence.
He would need to say something like “a British woman” for it to make sense and drop the word “worker” entirely.
Not sure what your point is.

Maybe they didn't know if she was a girl or a woman at the time of this picture.
Fun-Corgi-3376@reddit
Her because she can make you many more stens
Soft-Ad-8975@reddit
She can *assemble many more stens
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
I can probably assemble a sten with a diagram, but she has access to the parts.
Soft-Ad-8975@reddit
And I bet you expect her to smuggle them home one piece at a time up her jacksie too
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
One, two... Whatever she feels she can manage.
Plump_Apparatus@reddit
She's gonna need a big lunchbox.
DemonPeanut4@reddit
Well its a Mk.1Mk1*Mk.2Mk.3Mk.V
locolarue@reddit
One piece at a time!
Plump_Apparatus@reddit
And it wouldn't cost me a dime!

And help from a friend

Is that what the kids are calling them now?

..and she won't have as many stoppages.

Come on now, a STEN is about as low as you can get with your standards in SMGs. It’s the same to a proper submachine gun as a plank with a nail sticking through it is to a halberd.
Of course that woman is the better choice here, her incredible beauty is a nice part.
The_First_Curse_@reddit
I'd take it over the M3 Grease Gun for aesthetics alone.

i like both of the pretty things in this picture

Why not both. "Hey, shawty, wanna take it to the range with me and show you how I can handle it? ;)"

The gun will look and act the same 50 years later, it also won't ever argue with you, divorce you and take half your stuff or purposely try to kill you.

Por que no los dos?
ZeltbahnLife@reddit
My wife would probably prefer I come home with the Sten.
mratlas666@reddit
Yes?
00mace@reddit
At this point, if she's still alive, she's been running reliably for over 90 years. Can't say the same about the Sten for 90 minutes.

Truly one of the most beautiful woman ever photographed on the British Isles.
Aside from this 1941-42 beauty, the context of the picture always gets me. As these are STEN Mark 2s, I suspect this picture was taken within 18-24 months of Dunkirk. The average Brit was facing unprecedented food rationing, limited coal allotments and the fear the U-Boats would cut off the meager supply available.
My guess is this was a small garage-sized machine shop that had made bicycles or lunch boxes prewar. Now they were shifting to war work, in this case probably final assembly of parts from six or seven other small manufacturers. The UK wasn’t anywhere close to the industrial assembly line capacity of the U.S., and like Japan, Italy and other combatants was trying to take a piece-work economy into something much more integrated.
My grandmother, around the same age as this lady, spent WW2 as a nurse. She always talked about how her generation felt swept up in the war but also generationally going in the same direction-winning the war. She felt older generations had more nuanced views and experiences, but the youth were unified in a way she never saw after. My guess is this young lady felt the same way - never planned to be making machine guns, but she did her part in the war effort.

Why not both?

Looks like the spitting image of Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan)

She looks friendly but I’d rather take sten home.
