1 SR-71B ( all the way in the back, that exact plane is at the Kalamazoo Airzoo in Kalamazoo Michigan https://ss.sites.mtu.edu/mhugl/2017/10/22/the-lockheed-sr-71b-at-the-kalamazoo-air-zoo/)
Wild part is how much of a quantum leap it was. The F-4 phantom had maybe 9% of its total mass made up of titanium alloy. SR-71 was over 90% titanium. The titanium used in the blackbird alone weighs more than an F-4 phantom.
Wasn’t it!? I saw it over 20 years ago there and still remember it vividly. Neat to be able to get that close to it. And the engine on display was enormous….

It's a little known fact that they were named after the Beatles song "Blackbird".

Gottem lmao. Sold the exact materials used to build a plane intended to spy on you.
Lawdoc1@reddit
Are any of them an A-12? (Asking genuinely because I do not know how to tell them apart in this kind of pic.)
AFrozen_1@reddit
A-12s were silver and were single-seaters.
Lawdoc1@reddit
Ah, thank you.
snakemonkeyt@reddit
Only the trainer A-12’s were silver. Rest were still black
HungryDust@reddit
The one in the back is screwing up the symmetry and it makes me angry.
