Reddit alternatives keep failing so I built my own what do you think?

I have tried a lot of Reddit alternatives and most of them either feel like clones or end up dying because they do not really fix the core issues
So I decided to build my own platform called BlackCeldom with a different approach
The main problem I wanted to solve was how discussions online feel increasingly fake overly curated or driven by algorithms instead of real conversation
The focus with this is
Real discussions instead of performative posts
Community driven content instead of heavy algorithm control
A space where people can share perspectives and experiences more openly
Simple structure without everything being buried or manipulated
It is still early but I am more interested in feedback than promotion
What do you think Reddit alternatives are still missing or getting wrong

Someone said it already last time you posted this, but you really have to come up with a different name before anyone is gonna take this seriously. The vast majority will see this and read it as for "black incels". If that's the audience you're going for, then so be it. If you want wider traction than that, then you're shooting yourself in the foot before you even get started.

I wish I had done my research into the linkage with “black incel” shi before I had created the name, but what do you think I should rename it too? “Blackseldom” ?

That I can't tell you... if you're set on having 'black' in the name (perfectly reasonable if that's what you're going for) then perhaps look at synonyms for 'talk' or 'discussion'. blackversation or blacklocution or blackonclave or blackerchatter or.... something like that. Of course url availability will be a factor!

Yh your right I’ve been considering “blkdom” but it will be a process to rebrand everything including optimising the seo again

I'd be cautious about using "dom" in the name, as a suffix especially. It's going to be misinterpreted.

I get what you are saying but for me the name is more about paying homage to Blackdom the town and its history rather than anything else because I’m from there, the intention behind it is cultural and historical not that meaning at all. But I do get how it could be interpreted differently so it is something I am thinking about
