Yep. It was a popular frame to build up as a race gun since it was cheap and the accuracy came from the other parts anyway.

At least I knew of a few people doing it, but maybe I just hung around cheapskates.

Yes they do in 45 and 9mm. Usually blued steel not seen any in stainless or plated. Was popular 15-20yrs ago as it was cheap and the steel is very hard wearing. But as Turk 1911 came in better finish and options not seem many noricos
