I mention this a lot and the leftists get WAY more angry by pointing it out. I can usually have a discussion with normal conservatives, the ultra trump supporters are a little difficult. I can’t count on 3 fingers how many leftists have given me a decent conversation about how to change things without screeching about conservatives or calling me a nazi. Occasionally I’ll get called a commie by the maga folk but only the ones that only know me superficially.

Which party? Is it the party that took away a peaceful protestor’s gun, shoved his face into the concrete, and then unloaded 10 rounds into the back of his head? Or was it the party that claimed he was an armed terrorist? Or the party that claimed a gunman was there to cause mass casualties? Or the president who said you “can’t have guns”? Or the president’s appointed FBI director saying you can’t bring guns to protests?
Oh wait, those were all the same party.
Both parties are stripping rights. Doesn’t take a genius to see how the current administration is slowly trying to strip away the separation of powers, which is a large no-no for actual, true constitutionalists, but isn’t a big deal for fake libertarians who actually want to be tread on.

They're both fighting to strip the 2nd. The trump DOJ has been arguing against 2nd amendment cases before the Supreme Court alongside anti gun groups like The Brady group and Everytown. Literally parroting what Giffords says about suppressor and SBRs.

Congress put a bill through to remove the Suppressors and SBRs from the NFA. They couldn't get it passed as it was, so they amended it to reduce the tax stamp to $0, because the NFA is based on it being a tax, that's how it gets around the 2nd amendment. So it passes.
Then 20 different states, firearms companies and individuals challenged the NFA in court. A few different lawsuits. The DOJ has argued that both Suppressors and SBRs should remain under the NFA even though the tax is effectively $0, using all sorts of sketchy bases. Giffords anti gun groups said theyre not in common use, theyre dangerous, ect. The DOJ backed them in this. Then the DOJ said the tax is still valid because they tax the makers of these items.
The reason that the Trump appointed DOJ is fighting against removing these from the NFA is because once Congress turns to a Democrat controlled majority, they can push the cost of the tax stamp up to whatever they want, effectively removing the ability of the average citizen to own these things, and keeping it only for the rich.

The State is powerless to fix real problems. When you vote for politicians to do things like fix the economy, preserve the nation, pay for healthcare or protect the environment you are effectively praying to a dead god.
The country doesn't thrive because we live in a Democracy. It thrives despite democratic forces. The more state democracy we have, the worse it is going to get.
The primary purpose of the military isn't to protect the country. The primary purpose of the police isn't to keep you safe.
Government bureaucracies are for-profit institutions. The public sector is as for-profit as Walmart or any other major corporation. The major functional difference is that people in the public sector believe they have the right to steal your stuff and hurt you if you don't pay them.
