Is media intentionally painting an image of DFW?

The scandals of the Gateway Church, nazi salutes at a stars game, Iraqi soccer fans being attacked at DFW, Rangers being the only team in baseball without a pride night and putting up a racist statue of a Texas Ranger that posed with an effigy of a hanging child.

My dad is from the metroplex and I’ve spent a lot of time there. I’ve always enjoyed my time and the people I have experienced in my travels.

I (obviously) have a sports lens, but these are the stories I’m hearing coming out of DFW. I’ve always seen the area as diverse and accepting. Was I just naive? How does the general public feel? Are people outraged or are the stories exaggerated? What are the experiences of everyday people around town?
