Did anyone else not get an emergency alert today

They talked this whole big game about a statewide emergency alert test but I didn’t get anything on my phone.

No
781518@reddit
Mine are turned on but I didn't get an alert.
lavender-dreamzz@reddit
My only news outlet is SmahDaTopic on facebook😂😂😂
TexasOldLady@reddit
Didn’t know about it, didn’t get one.
JoyfulCor313@reddit
I turned off every alert I could after they woke us up in the middle of the night about a cop hundreds of miles away who wasn’t even dead.
Apparently that worked perfectly because my day was uninterrupted.
Pale-Succotash441@reddit
This is the way. Did this back when that sheriff in South Texas decided to blow up everyone’s phones at like 3am. Dude single handedly ruined the alert service overnight. I get alerts from weather apps only now.
Timely-Cry-8366@reddit
It was like 4 am and I almost lost my mind. Ugh.
oodlescoooop@reddit
🤣🤣 this is the exact day i turned mine off too!
loudblonde@reddit
That’s exactly the day I turned off every alert as well, because I truly thought some horrible shit was happening at like 3am when we got those alerts - all for something that didn’t pertain to any of us.
Frogblaster77@reddit
Yep, that made me turn mine off too.
doritodream@reddit
Seth freaking Altman.
SliverMcSilverson@reddit
Good day to everyone, except Seth fucking Altman
PerspectiveIcy8775@reddit
Omg, me too!! Seems like that was the last straw for a bunch of us 😅
Alloutofideas6789@reddit
Same
VampireOnHoyt@reddit
Mine are off ever since every phone in the theater went off with an Amber Alert during the emotional climax of my daughter's UIL One-Act Play a few years ago
YaGetSkeeted0n@reddit (OP)
lol i turned off that one category after that incident, but today around 10:30 i thought hmm i wonder what the test alert will say, i'll enable all of them
then nothing!
OreosBigDay@reddit
This exactly when I turned off all alerts too. I still get mad when I think about that one.
fugu_chick@reddit
Exactly that reason!! Today I was surprised to get an email from my city
WeHaveIgnition@reddit
Exactly why I turned off alerts.
jehssikkah@reddit
I got two alerts for 2 different cities i subscribe to. I got 1 push alert from 1 of those cities.
I subscribe to 3 cities in dfw.
sarcazm107@reddit
Nope. I turned off all alerts for everything except extreme weather though because where I live you can't hear the tornado sirens and my old NOAA emergency radio kept freaking out on me and going off for bullshit reasons like flood watches in counties far away.
No text, email, or anything while I was watching tv either.
4ofheartz@reddit
Zilch! No Dallas customary siren test yesterday either. With our luck we’ll have a siren malfunction at midnight. 🕛
u2aerofan@reddit
I just remembered that time all the sirens were hacked or something and they all went off at midnight…that was real, right?
4ofheartz@reddit
Yes! It was crazy. Went on for hours. Apparently they had to go shut off at each tower!
captainn_chunk@reddit
Heard them in west Dallas las colinas Irving yesterday
BourbonXenon@reddit
I heard the test downtown
EmmBeeGees@reddit
Interesting, we had our siren test yesterday (just northeast of White Rock)
Texas_Redditor@reddit
We had siren test at noon down in Oak Cliff
TheConsignliere@reddit
I’m also in DFW and same.
SeveralRip2835@reddit
They had announced they were testing all emergency systems today
Brave_Ordinary8671@reddit
Yesterday, my husband received a text from our city and I received like an emergency alert but it came across like Amber Alert and it was from the State. We don’t live in Dallas county.
KC5SDY@reddit
I didnt get it. With how my phone likes to act, I am not surprised.
mental-Racoon@reddit
It failed big time but they won’t admit it for security reasons. They played a big game advertising it and most people didn’t get it. All they were able to do was put it on radio, tv and local sirens.
RedditOnANapkin@reddit
I got a text this morning around 10.
namezam@reddit
Got the text and call and five minutes later every fire truck, ladder, pumper, ambulance in Flower Mound was screaming down 407.
Dizzy-Bat4776@reddit
I got a test alert at 10am from Rowlett. I’m in Dallas.
Natasha5145@reddit
I got a text from the city I live in. But not from the state.
Heretogetthingsdone@reddit
Total Failure! They will fix it by giving everyone Emergency Pagers engineered by Israel to KEEP AMERICA SAFE!
YaGetSkeeted0n@reddit (OP)
i get that reference lmao
orthodoxscouter@reddit
I had so many driving from Dallas to Austin
TacoIsABust@reddit
They don’t care about you gang 💔🥀🕊️
EuphoricGoose4735@reddit
Nope, nothing
cantstandthemlms@reddit
I got a text and a call but I’m not in dallas county.
_wannabe_@reddit
I got a text from a statewide agency and a separate phone call from Denton County.
Hopeful_Quantity_539@reddit
I got 3 but I am in the Denton County part of Dallas. 1 text, 1 notification and 1 phone call.
TexasBrandy@reddit
I got nothing. And i carry two phones.
BabyBundt13@reddit
I totally forgot about this because I never got an alert either!
icuckeddjt@reddit
Nope all my alerts are turned off. NOAA radio FTW!
Inevitable-Ad-90@reddit
FTW! Ever since that LAST TIME I received one at the a@@ crack of dawn…..I turned them all off!
Fickle_Ad_8227@reddit
I got a text message alert
TeamImpossible4333@reddit
I don’t get how the city of Rowlett can issue a statewide alert. That’s how mine showed up
caphair@reddit
Yup
Old-Mixture1246@reddit
