Bro wanted his truck washed

Saw this in Cottondale, AL. After some discussion they admitted him and washed his pickup. Maybe a Texas thing?? 🥳
MCryptoWars@reddit
I went to a Blue Beacon 2 days ago in New York by the TA, and a gang of pick ups that were pimped out, were also washing their trucks.
RoweTheGreat@reddit
After some discussion? Blue beacon washes smaller vehicles all the time. They’re still paying customers and blue beacon does a hell of a lot better of a job most regular car washes for a fraction of the price.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
Been driving 14 years now. Never seen a car or pickup there. But that's good information.
Jess067@reddit
I have them wash my pickup truck at BB all the time, as a escort vehicle operator
Virtchoo@reddit
Blue beacon will wash any car. $21.30 for a car, 23.70 for a pickup/van. Not terrible rates, and way better service than a roller wash or automated.
bobsanidiot@reddit
also if your running 33's or larger or have duallys most car washes cant wash your truck
Molten_Baco@reddit
This is what I came to say
mikeblas@reddit
Would you have said "your" or "you're"?
skeletons_asshole@reddit
The correct spelling is 'yer' here in Texas. As in "They ain't gon' wash yer truck, them duallys too wide.
MrNationwide@reddit
One of each
MrNationwide@reddit
But both in the wrong spot
Beanz_detected@reddit
To sow chaos I take it?
MrNationwide@reddit
I love sewing chaos
Few-Chemical-5165@reddit
What the hell is wrong with you?
mikeblas@reddit
Don't wet yourself.
NostradamusJones@reddit
I didn't think of that, TIL.
EatLard@reddit
None of the ones near me will take duallies. But the washouts and blue beacon all will.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
Good to know. When I start driving my car again I may just check it out. 🙂
Radiant_Swan187@reddit
Fairly reasonable idea say.
Some_Ask_4730@reddit
Take my dully to the one in Brunswick GA all the time
631_Exuberant_Bias@reddit
Hey, it technically is a truck. Not a semi truck, but a truck nonetheless
Troubador222@reddit
There is not a thing wrong with that. Some are f you guys just need to learn to mind your own business and let other people do what they want. It’s supposed to be a free country.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
I DID mind "my own business". Commenting on something I didn't understand is what you call "a free country". Or is it just ON YOUR TERMS??
Troubador222@reddit
If you were actually looking for an explanation I apologize. This sub is full of people looking for cheap internet karma and we get trolls calling out people all the time. Perhaps I jumped the gun on your post. I am used to seeing this in rural areas. There is a Blue Beacon in Weatherford TX that has pick ups in the lines there all the time.
Sometimes I get really annoyed at the trolls on Reddit and I am admittedly an old fart. Again my apologies. And don’t let me stop you from asking those honest questions and I will try to be less likely to think everyone is a troll. Peace!
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
I appreciate this. And yeah, it really was an honest "question" because it really took me by surprise. But a lot of good has come from this post. A lot of drivers (and 4 wheelers) have learned a lot by the comments. ☮️ indeed! And thanks.
Richard_Tickler69@reddit
That truck literally will not fit in a regular car wash. This is quite common.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
I just learned that. Learned something new here. I'm sure others will as well.
Richard_Tickler69@reddit
Yeah I've always imagined it would be quite annoying to have a larger pickup and have to go to something like Blue Beacon just to get it washed.
MonkeyDxn@reddit
His paint is gonna be scratched to hell
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
Only once that I get my paint, a little scratched at a BB. I think they didn't rinse the scrubber off before they put it to the side of my truck. It wasn't all that bad but I could still see it.
MonkeyDxn@reddit
One time is all it takes and I wouldn't risk it
B17bomber@reddit
I've actually seen them advertise for pickup trucks at the Blue beacon near Meridian, Mississippi
And honestly it's probably not a terrible idea. Automatic washers are pretty bad for cars with vinyls and wraps. It might be a better deal just getting oa hand wash at blue beacon.
sourpringlemingle@reddit
i was a newbie driver waiting my turn for a trailer wash and a pick up truck was parked in the semi park spots waiting too. almost took his side mirror off but he honked before i had the chance too and then had to see him inside while we both paid😅 felt bad but hopefully now he will leave those big spots for the actual trucks lol
Tricky_Ruin2174@reddit
Truckers in the subreddit come off so entitled sometimes lol. The other day guy was mad about a couple rvs properly parked in a couple rest stop parking spots and now you’re trying to gatekeep the truck wash?? 🤡
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
I don't feel entitled. You don't know me.
ChiTruckDGAF@reddit
I've been there, needing a washout before getting to my next appointment and there's a long line and a (very clean looking) pickup truck in it.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
That's all I needed. A Washout.
ChiTruckDGAF@reddit
Took me an hour, we barely made the appointment time and the clown getting his clean pickup and camper trailer rewashed didn't help.
___HeyGFY___@reddit
^"truck"
bluehorsehead@reddit
Iirc it is called a pick up TRUCK
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
It not a "commercial truck" however, unless it has a DOT registration on the side of it.
I thought the BB was just for commercial trucks. Apparently I'm not the only one, and why this post has merit.
MainConnection6742@reddit
Putting up wallpaper in the captains cabin..... He had a choice of what he wanted . Chose a pink wall paper . Sorry , salmon wall paper. Finished the job and sold the space to him and told him he had a pretty boat. He got so pissed . Cg 57 Uss lake Champlain. Good times.
BlacktopProphet@reddit
Pickup (truck)
Dolley (hand truck)
Forklift (lift truck)
Tractor trailer (truck)
Truck defined: (noun) a wheeled vehicle (notice it doesn't say automotive vehicle) for moving goods.
(Verb) to go or move in an especially easy manner
It's almost like English is a clusterfuck of mostly bastardized French, where nouns can be verbs and definitions are broad and change with colloquial use
Grand_Cookie@reddit
It always makes me chuckle when drivers get super obsessed with someone just living their life and not actually doing anything bad.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
Maybe you're just "super obsessed" calling someone "super obsessed" for pointing something out they've never seen before?? 🤔
Grand_Cookie@reddit
Oh man, did I teleport back to 2nd grade?
Superb_Yam_5511@reddit
I mean God forbid a guy get his truck washed or get DEF at a pump instead of double stuffed in the rear on boxed DEF prices.
Mindless_Pandemic@reddit
The wash quality of Blue Beacon is worth the cost over the crap automatic ones.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
Good to know.
nick-james73@reddit
Not to mention the automatic ones are just gonna leave insane swirls in your paint
Aggravating-Ideal-56@reddit
You can’t even get a big pick up in an automated one half the time either
OldPath7291@reddit
Tbf with how wide his truck is it’d probably be nerve racking bringing it thru a normal car wash lol
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
Seems like that from the replies. 👍🏻
Apmaddock@reddit
Wide? It’s on singles. It’s no wider than an SUV.
I still don’t really see a problem with this so long as he’s paying truck wash prices.
ComprehendReading@reddit
Aren't most SUVs just truck frames anyway?
Emergency_Ad1152@reddit
Most, yes. But super duties are wider than regular pick ups. GM's are super wide, Ford and Ram are a little wider.
DaSaw@reddit
That's pretty much the definition of an SUV, though actual construction may have changed since they first started making them. It's basically designed to fill the market niche of the station wagon, but without having to meet the fuel efficiency standards imposed on cars (but not trucks).
Cake_And_Pi@reddit
I’ve got a F550 and a company card. Is there a drive thru option open to me?
Totallycomputername@reddit
I'm with you on that. Large bay and if thats a crew cab with a full size bed squeezing into a normal wash isn't easy.
banevader699@reddit
normal car washes suck for pickup trucks there is usually barely enough space between the wall and the truck for the wand and you get splashed the whole time. And the hose rubs all over the body
Bonega1@reddit
And many car washes won't take trucks with those tow mirrors.
Aldur98@reddit
I once washed a motorcycle that someone rode in on and then out on following the wash at the beacon I worked at.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
Thanks for the info. Learned something new.
ChiTruckDGAF@reddit
Did he lanesplit to get in ahead of all the truckers in line? Because that would be hilarious.
Engelbert-n-Ernie@reddit
This is where my head was at, until now the thought had never occurred to me
Aldur98@reddit
It was definitely a weird one. We asked him if he was serious and was sure like five times.
PCDevine@reddit
Holy shit, I thought we were making fun of the semi truck going through an automatic carwash. Maybe it's just where I'm from in Canada, but we do not have automatic washes you could take a semi through. Not that I have seen anyways. We just have big self wash bays you pull into and then you wand er down yourself. Never seen anything like this but it definitely makes sense. I was mighty confused seeing this post.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
And there we have it! I was just replying, I'm sure somebody else will learn something new from this post!
chemicalflyer86@reddit
It’s not automatic there’s a bunch of dudes running around with pressure washers . I thought it was pretty crazy when I first started running in the states .
PCDevine@reddit
That's even crazier lol. Only thing I've ever heard that's similar is bikini washes lol. And I still haven't seen one of those ffs.
DANO8503@reddit
Open one up and drop the location! We will all swing by and get our rigs washed
Southerneagle110@reddit
Blue beacon will also wash motorcycles.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
That would be a first as well for me to see. Next someone gonna tell me they wash Sumo Wrestlers.
Dungeon_Beard@reddit
I stopped at a Blue Beacon last Friday; two large pick-ups in front of me. I didn't think anything of it.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
I never saw it before except when attached to a hotshot rig.
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
I never seen it before except when towing a hotshot rig.
Beanz_detected@reddit
As a bay attendant at a BB
Yeah, we wash pickups. We also do washes for local police. The reasons were explained by top comment, but I can see people coming here just because we can reach a lot of areas other places can't.
And a lot of the time we're done washing pickups before the customer has finished paying
VitoVino@reddit (OP)
That's interesting. And the reason why I posted this is, I've been driving for 14 years and never seen a four wheeler at Blue Beacon. I told my buddy about it and he's been driving for 16 years and never seen it. So we thought it was odd.
Beanz_detected@reddit
They come in a lot in my experience
Maybe it's just a regional difference.
hotdog11inch@reddit
So your brother wanted his truck washed
Robjla@reddit
I bet he left his rv at the truck stop
jessesmyth@reddit
billy the lil big rigger
danDotDev@reddit
I would be as annoyed as I am seeing pickups at the truck pumps. Like I get it, there are legitimate reasons for pickups to use both, but it's just a pet peeve of mine.
jq_gaming@reddit
I just know that went something like this “hey can we wash a truck” “what do you mean that’s all we do” “no like….come here” “….” “….” “hold on a sec HEY JOE CAN WE WASH A TRUCK?!”
VikingLander7@reddit
I see them all the time when waiting in line at the BB. Usually hot shots but occasionally a regular pickup truck or two. But the one that really freaked me out was the dude in a hellcat went through.
30balljamalcraw@reddit
Lol this is funny, I bet he used to be a truck driver or is currently a truck driver
ParticularArrival111@reddit
No touch
RuneScape420Homie@reddit
He was flexing
Aggravating-Ideal-56@reddit
I used to do it all the time
Logical-Variation292@reddit
Next time read the menu, they wash cars as well.
Accomplished_Ad4147@reddit
Back in the day my dad took our conversion van through Blue Beacon anytime he had the chance.
MainConnection6742@reddit
Dad took us in his flat bed and told us to hang on tight.
Cheap_Session_9305@reddit
They do a damn good job though. I wish there was one close by where I live, I'd definitely take my pickup
AlmondAtom@reddit
Totally normal to take a pickup to a truck wash. Nothing else gets the farm grime off as well as the punjabis
Wizard_with_a_Pipe@reddit
It's too bad they don't have something like this for 4 wheelers, they could call it something like.... I don't know...a car wash?
Wolfleader09@reddit
Truck this size won’t fit, See other comments
GhostyKill3r@reddit
I go through blue beacons all the time in my pickup. It's not much more than most car washes, does a better job, and I don't have to worry about fitting.🤷🏼♂️
imcjoey13@reddit
As a non truck driver it took me a few seconds to notice what was inside the car/truck wash. Duhhh.
BingoDeville@reddit
Im a lurker that joined to low key learn all's ways when I was full time RVing.. We used to pull our F450 and 42' fifth wheel through Blue Beacon from time to time.. Would have the go easy on the fifth wheel. We would try to time it so we wouldn't hold a line up, although I'm not sure if we were any longer than yalls rigs pulling 53'.
Available_Quote_5567@reddit
My brother’s bone stock F350 Tremor is too tall for all the car washes locally.
ParticularArrival111@reddit
Trucks too tall for regular car wash. I used to have to do this with my pick up truck.
Nachocheeze60@reddit
As someone who owns a ford box truck and 3 high roof vans for a business. I know how this feels.
We can’t fit in car washes but still want clean trucks.
The struggle is real.
I’ll usually just take a day and bring the internationals over with the washout, then the ford box truck, then the vans.
$400 later I can take a picture and feel accomplished.
ju5tjame5@reddit
To be fair, truck washes seem to get your vehicle shinier than regular car washes
NJNeal17@reddit
Won't fit in a normal, anything really!
kd8qdz@reddit
Yeah, this was my guess. Local *Car* wash told him no.
norseprincesspdx@reddit
I guess if you want to pay that high of a price
Agile_Spray_415@reddit
$22 for a really good wash beats the brushes any day. These guys are washing trucks all day. I’ve rarely been upset after a wash and even after I spoke out. They would gladly rewash it.
norseprincesspdx@reddit
22$ ?! Last time I got a truck wash it was 50 but it must be a diff price for a regular truck?
Unfair_Fisherman_605@reddit
King Ranch, he’s Special. Spendy pick up for sure.
No_Soft_4776@reddit
Bro wants his truck pushed into the Tyson truck...
