Times when B&B have actually been smart?

Or at least showed some capacity to think?
My fav is they have a box of candy bars each to sell for school. With the same $2 or whatever they had they sold (and ate) a bar to each other until both boxes were empty. Task complete right?
Another is they have to change the oil in their fast food job. So they get car oil from a garage and put that in the fryer. Wrong oil but an effort was made.
Another is they think if they touch every bra on a shop that's the same as touching boobs (since the bars have been tried on). Not quite how it works but again they are thinking.

The crowbar video. When butthead said kirk windsteins heart must have been 50 pounds of meat
fabyhoppus@reddit
When they react to music videos or other shows they seem pretty smart to me.
JDanzy@reddit
Music videos are literally the only thing they know anything about.
DrWangerBanger@reddit
Main plot B&B and video commenter B&B are two completely different characters imo

Beavis and Butt-head when watching music videos, and especially when reacting to the garbage reality shows on MTV in the 2011 reboot and YouTube videos in the later seasons are just Mike Judge's inner monologue.
Sensitive_Brush_3015@reddit
Man if that ain’t the truth.

Butt=head watching Jersey Shore doing the hook up board: "if they did this chart long enough, they could find out where herpes began"
I'm impressed that they knew herpes was sexually transmitted. Maybe they'll be smart enough to use protection if they ever score.

I forgot what trauma caused Beavis to be smart but it didn't last long.
Doubleucommadj@reddit
He blew on his thumb to get dizzy.
PMac10000@reddit
Right, and it revealed Beavis' true self: a smug album reviewer for SPIN magazine in the mid-90s. But then the buzz wore off...
Lenny0mega@reddit
Anytime they watched a more modern MTV instead of a music video, like Jersey Shore or 16 and Pregnant.
Weary_Sale_2779@reddit
I was going to say, Some of the jokes both, but particularly Butt-Head, make in the modern episodes are way too clever for the character. Hilarious, but kind of out of character??
t-poke@reddit
The reactions to MTV and YouTube trash are just Mike Judge expressing his commentary through B&B.
Bob-s_Leviathan@reddit
Somehow the people on those shows make B & B look like geniuses.

Beavis saying, “The angle of the dangle is inversely proportional to the heat of the meat!”
Free-Veterinarian714@reddit
A sorta smart moment in the reboot when they're on jury duty. The jury re-watches a surveillance video and Butthead points out two things on the accused. It's for a typical B & B reason but ends up being the key to justice in this case.

Question: "How come they call it taking a dump and not leaving a dump? I mean after all, your not really taking it anywhere!
This 30+ year old quote from Beavis still makes me ponder this question. He was quite introspective and lucid in asking this.
Igor_J@reddit
Whooaa...you sound just like that Mickey Rooney dude.
NoMoveBecauseLazy@reddit
In the episode where Butthead is choking (on chicken), Beavis asks what he’s supposed to do about it. “Call 911.” No hesitation. No joke. No stutter. The fear of death constricted his focus.
General-Carob-6087@reddit
Maybe not smart but they’re often clever when making fun of videos. They also seem much more intelligent when they’re pretending to be someone else. For instance there’s an episode where they’re acting like cops and their vocabulary expands by miles.
ParticularIndvdual@reddit
When they’re looking at the pipes in the construction site and Butthead wonders if they’re storm pipes or sewer pipes (pipes for water or pipes for crap)

Watching the entirety of Beavis & Butthead Do The Universe. Still one of the funniest movies I have ever seen

I need to find this

"Im going to Vegas to play the slots!"

Nah, that's the first movie - while still genius, the newer one is somehow exponentially funnier

Oh "universe"
Dam. .. I got one to find, myself.
baeBTS@reddit
I found it in the bay of pirates, matey 😘

Turns out it's on paramount in Australia!

In B&B do the universe, they were extremely competent using the machinery just because it looked like a penis inserting into a vagina

Mr. Manners: Excuse me boys, but it's rather rude to make noises and interrupt me... when it's MY turn to talk. Butt-head: Uhhh, we were doing this long before you came in sir. Beavis: Yeah, you interrupted US. Butthole!
