I've gone down this road. It works, and real well at that, but the 65gr aren't worth it. They have the MV edge and a touch more energy (<10% advantage vs 124gr), but they don't have the BC to carry that energy well. At 50yd, they're basically zesty 9mm at ~400 ftlbs.
The UW 124gr are right around 600 ftlbs coming out and keep on truckin' with that higher BC, breaking the 400 ftlbs threshold around 85-90yd.
And if you just keep it stock with 40, their 155gr will still have 400 ftlbs at around 80yd, though 125yd is about the inflection point where 40 retains more energy despite more vertical drop.

I don’t think that the 40 will take G22 .40S&W mags. You can put .40S&W into the G20/G40 10mm mags and it runs fine, but the G22 mags will be too small for the G40.
