That looks like the kinda hole I’d step in after I got the rudder back on
vichybubbelbumba@reddit (OP)
Update. I stepped in it😅 and i havent even installed the rudder yet.
w-sailing@reddit
I’m sorry I knew it would happen 😂 did you put a small piece of plywood over it after getting your leg beck out?
vichybubbelbumba@reddit (OP)
No because what is the chance i will do it again😂
w-sailing@reddit
Definitely won’t happen again. Let us know if it’s the same foot or the other one
AdmirablePudding5746@reddit
That’s a quality hole
vichybubbelbumba@reddit (OP)

Dumb question #487: what are those bushings you put in the skeg?
vichybubbelbumba@reddit (OP)
The two bolt holding the hinge for the rudder had started digging in to the fibreglass so i put some stainless tube in to try and fix it.

Not a dumb question, I know a LOT about boats and I don't know either

I need to remember this if when I do my prop shaft
FairSeafarer@reddit
Well, at least you could dig? destroying asphalt would have been a bit more of a bummer.
nicholhawking@reddit
You couldn't have extracted the post from above?
vichybubbelbumba@reddit (OP)
Unfortunatly it's all in one piece
nicholhawking@reddit
Alas
Naive_Adeptness6895@reddit
Good thing you dug you almost ran aground.
slosh_baffle@reddit
There's water down there somewhere. The rudder is thirsty.
vichybubbelbumba@reddit (OP)
😂

Looks like you got shafted.

Luckily my boat sits high enough up on a yard trailer that 90 inches of rudder and stock can be removed without needing to take an excavator to the paved car park

oh that's great haha
