Has anyone else been getting DPD scam texts because of Tiktok?

Just curious if this is a thing anyone else has noticed.
Firstly, I'm pretty low for spam on my phone, don't often get calls, and pretty much never get texts.
Last weekend, I bought some bits on TikTok (I was bored on a Sunday, and I have adult money). Ever since I have received 3 phishing texts from 'DPD', it just seems a bit coincidental and maybe TikTok or their partner sellers are selling data to help get people when they are vulnerable.
I work in Digital marketing, and pretty on it when it comes to scams. I'm the office and family checker (CHECK THE EMAIL ADDRESS, is my usual retort).
But it almost got me, as I was in fact waiting for a parcel from DHL at that very moment.
It worries me a lot because if it almost got me, I know for sure it deffo is getting a lot of people.
Anyone else noticed a link with it?

Yes it’s actually annoying

A Moroccan phone number. I received a very similar text today from a Filipino number.

This is literally the exact message.
Never had it before buyer from Tiktok shop.

Then you're lucky, its nothing to do with TikTok, just the timing makes it seem it. I get similar messages and I've never used TikTok

Great post! We at r/DPDuk would love it if you could share this on our page as well, it’d be really helpful for others to see.

I am also awaiting a package via DHL, and received this message from DHL UK, shortly after DHL text re delivery.
I almost clicked on that link too.
Incredibly coincidental that you were also awaiting DHL package (mine was from a garden centre in UK).
I suppose - report, block and hope for the best.

Be careful buy from TikTok shop because known at least 3 people buy from there and within a few weeks there has been money either taken or been tried to be taking from their banks. I’m not sure how but my partner was one of the 3 and someone tried to use her details on a Hong Kong website.
Along with what you have said I personally wouldn’t ever use it but I don’t use TikTok either.

Never been on Tik Tok but I have been getting loads of SHEIN ones lately, and weirdly they increase in frequency when I am in fact expecting a parcel from Amazon / Next etc

I get DPD spam and I’ve never used TikTok

I get very few junk texts. I’ve never used TikTok at all, no shop. Got a DPD junk message last Saturday. Suspect everyone with a phone has had one.

Ahh okay, fair enough, could just be a coincidence then.
cgknight1@reddit
It likely is - they send hundreds of thousands of these a day. They don't need your details simply to understand how UK numbers work.
What you suggest is slower and less effective that what the scammers actually do because it adds an intermediate phase plus additional cost.
Worldly_Wafer_6635@reddit (OP)
I don't think it is less effective, though.
It makes me a 'hot target' because I'm way more likely to click that link, because I was waiting for a parcel that day.
Like I said I am pretty hot on it when it comes to spam, but was seconds away from clicking it.
cgknight1@reddit
In the volumes they deal in (hundreds of thousands) it introduces friction.
Worldly_Wafer_6635@reddit (OP)
Automated lead gen.
It's really not any friction at all.
It's literally the same way legit companies do it, the difference here being that they are trying to rob people, not sell to them.

As someone who ships things from China all the time, Chances are it’s occurring in the warehouses and courier stages.
It may be tiktok sold the data, but unlikely. What’s more likely are your details being logged through the various portals and labels your package has on its box. All it takes is one worker.
Worldly_Wafer_6635@reddit (OP)
Yeah, you're probably right.

This makes sense - I’ve never purchased from TikTok but I did buy something else online from a different site recently, The distributor was based in China and since then I’ve had two of these messages.
