Good game with super innovative computer graphics “set on top of” real recorded flight video. For the time (1983), it was amazing.

My dad owned a bar in the 80’s and had several games and pinball machines. He got this one when the local Chuck E Cheese went out of business. I played it so much I made it to the post nuke levels.

Afterburner tho, with the cabinet that moved!
Naasade@reddit
Afterburner was my game of choice, with or without the moving sit-down cabinet.
When I was in college, there was an arcade just across the street from the dorms. Being a typical college dorm, almost every weekend somebody would pull the fire alarms… usually multiple times a night.
Usually I hated the fire alarms. But if it happened early enough that the arcade was still open I would react like it was a red alert scramble, run over to the arcade, and play Afterburner until the fire alarm was over.

I loved that game so much, especially since I spent a lot of time in the Grand Canyon, so I recognized places you were flying through…

Yeah the actual topography loaded onto laser disk was cutting edge! The tech had its issues back in the day but it was super cool!!

I was a huge fan of another laser disc game from that time, Us vs. Them

Someone loaded FALCON F-16 Flight Sim on the Amiga in my high school video arts class (DoDDS overseas, 92/93). It was fun when we weren’t running Video Toaster.

I haven't thought of that game in such a long time, wow
obx808@reddit
I would play this and get so into it with the big-ass controller that the disk would skip and sometimes lock up the game. Good times - great game!

Yeah that one was bada$$ also! Cutting edge at the time. Also Dragons Lair
