It might be true but Putin’s generals have been known to outright lie about advances recently. A good example is Kupyansk which is still contested.

There is more to lying about advances when it is meant to lure the enemy into preselected battlefields.
Truth is the first casualty in the fog of war. Russia has lured NATO advances and reinforcements into Kupyansk twice before and wiped out some of the most elite units.
If the Russians get counter attacked heavily but don't lose the city then they chose it to be a predetermined extermination zone for the invaders.

The “war of attrition” is a fallacy. Russia is getting pushed back all along the front and is incapable of a decisive victory. Putin is in semi-hiding after the Valdai assassination attempt by Trump. 200 drones are launched against Russia daily. Russia failed to destroy Ukraine’s electrical grid. A demoralized and unmotivated Russian military could easy collapse to the Ukrainians in the coming years.

Who told you Russian military is demoralized and unmotivated though?
What in Russia's history and culture would make you think they would get demoralized against nazis?

Russia is incapable of taking the rest of the Donbas. They are getting pushed back in Zaporizhzhia. Putin’s generals are lying about progress, trying to conceal their failures. I think there is an unwillingness to launch any major offensives. The attempt to establish buffer zones around Sumy and Kharkiv has failed too. Putin has stopped talking about Ukraine which is another indication things are going poorly.

Russia literally is not using it's regular military. It is running a Special Military Operation using some reservists and volunteers.
They openly said their goal is not territory but destroying nato nazis. If they are in excellent defensive positions then why would they need to move forward if they can just mop up nazi waves of attacks?
You seem to be unfamiliar with chess or strategy. Life is not a hollywood movie with rapids moves and instant wins. Life is more blue collar where you grind and grind to make sure whatever you are fixing is fixed right instead of being blown up.
Ukraine is over. Their money is being cut off. Their NATO troops are being rerouted to the middle east. Their foreign mercenaries are also being rerouted,
It wont be long until the ''punisher'' nazi battalions start fleeing to whatever UK/German/French units trained them.
Donbass was the reason NATO attacked Ukraine from within and then tried to conquer those regions. The vital mines and industrial factories are now secured from NATO. NATO will continue launching attacks to dislodge the liberators who have excellent secured defensive positions.
Have you ever considered those basic well known facts? This is the second episode of the Surovkin line to consolidate liberated territories and fortify them from attacks by stand off weapons.
Radars are being installed. Underground depots are being stocked. Air defenses are being placed. The ground is literally wet mud right now and you are saying the Russians are being pushed back by the attacker trying to slop through mud without understand that military doctrine says that is the best way to lure the enemy out.
Russian general command is going to wait for the mud to solidify and will move out either after May 1st or after May 9th.

The assasination attempt on Putin was a major humiliation. Putin thought for months that Trump was negotiating in good faith, when in fact he was merely using the negotiations as a setup for an attempt on his life. After this Russia still refers to the US as “our partners”. Completely clueless. I’m sure Putin would repeat this again with another Alaska summit and yet another assassination attempt. Perhaps he can give Trump a 6 inch thick binder of Russian-Ukrainian history to Trump, like he did with Tucker Carlson. That will do it.

In what world is it humiliation to survive and assassination attempt instead of an alpha move? Not sure what hollywood movie got you all twisted.
