There is not a single moderator on this website who has ever been entrusted with a leadership position in real life. They lack the essential qualities and competencies to hold one, and so they abuse the only power they’ll ever get - clicking buttons on a website - to make themselves feel less insecure.

Bro, I have you tagged as “guy who thinks school zones are merely suggestions.” 🤣
Matchboxx@reddit
And would you look at that. Your tag proudly says “never amounted to anything in his career.”
unexpected@reddit
Yes, you have me pegged for sure!

I'd like to think I moderate with as light a touch as possible. The arrows are there for a reason... downvote spam and off-topic stuff, upvote insightful stuff. Enough people do that and it sorts itself out.
The recent AI bot invasion has gotten overwhelming and one of the subs I moderate got a little overwhelmed, so I had to turn to a bot to aid... but even that has an appeal process.
So not everyone is a mini-dictator.

Reminded me of the covid lockdown brownshirt period. When low level employees with no authority become self appointed police enforcing martial law. The disrespect and anger they had on their own neighbors was appalling. Remember that video of NYers spitting and beating up that 65 year old woman getting groceries, flight attendants threatening FBI if a childs mask was a centimeter too low. It was awful times. Well Reddit MODs are the real life embodiment of that, so much power with so little oversight.
The power? Blocking their followers from their own site page 🤣

r/parasites mod is an exception to this rule.
Still_Detail_4285@reddit
You just described Reddit. I assume you will be banned from the entire site soon.

On most high volume subs, yes. But there are mods of smaller very specific hobby, craft, or specialty artisan makers that have mods that are experts in their field. Don't let the Mods who butt-hurt you give a bad name to every mod ever.

Sir, this is Reddit.

Shit, I was looking for a Wendy’s.

Hey! So I’ve been a lurker for a while on this sub. Only because I am associated with this suburb and many other in the northern part of Dallas.
From my understanding, there is a mod who is associated with Lorie Blair the city council women. This is why you see quick bans on anything that goes against far left democrats.
There has been many complaints over Reddit I. General being far left but she is the icing on the cake. It shucks because Reddit is a hotpot of different opinions yet if you say anything that goes against her agenda you will be banned.
At the end of the day Reddit is a private company so they can let mods do what ever they want. There has been a group in the past who acknowledged the r/Dallas mods are acting with an agenda and tried to start a new sub but less than 400 joined.
Anyways; welcome to DFW, sorry if you were wrongly banned from the main sub, but you can create a new account

What happened?

On the NSFW side of things the mods permanently ban all the real people on technicalities on violating the group rules with no clear explanation or correspondence. Yet the bot's and scammer's stay post it's whack as fuck. r/dfwcausualencounters r/DallasFreakz

I was banned for "dogwhistling" ... I think it was on a post about independent coffee shops?
PomeloPepper@reddit
Hah! I just got a questionnaire from reddit asking to evaluate the mods of a sub I got kicked off of. For posting a reply that was factually accurate, about something I do for a living, in the state where I work.
