Help identifying whale

Apologies for the poor quality of the video, but this is all my dad was able to capture on his tour off Nosy Be, Madagascar. My guess is humpback, but without the tail I can’t be too sure…
Any help is greatly appreciated🙏🏼

I was trying to zoom in on the video 🤏🤓lol. Don’t apologize! Did your dad have a good trip?!

Absolutely! Made the same trip myself in 2019, and while I never saw any whales, I got to swim with whale sharks! Highly recommend Nosy Be if you ever have the opportunity to go!

Agreed - definitely humpback.

Humpback. They have the distinctive extremely arched back and the weird dorsal fin that looks like a nubbin :D
