What do you think of all this anti dog rhetoric BBC and British media is pushing?

I don't think they are "pushing an anti dog rhetoric'. I saw the clip you linked to, it's the only thing I've seen, it's someone asking a question. I think you're either getting worked up over a gentle breeze in a tea cup, or you're looking to be cross at the BBC and draw others into that

What about this one? If US media was coming for my precious pup like this and calling for dog free zones I would be outraged. Do they mean not even being able to walk your dog outside in certain areas?
Low_Understanding_85@reddit
You can't walk your dog in certain areas outside in the US. Disney world for example.
Mickey mouse is a cunt.
90210fred@reddit
Yea, that's GBebbies, so no one cares
SignificantAd3761@reddit
Yeah, GB news, full of shite, shit stirring and fear mongering

This is already old news. Wales have already banned dogs from the countryside. Whether you agree with the decision or not is another matter. The fact of the matter is that Britain has already been colonized and people just move onto the next news cycle.

I'll say there has been an odd rise in British media reporting anti-dog stories. Some examples from just the past twenty four hours that I came across in my feed:

It does indeed strike me as odd. Sort of feels like a coordinated push, we'll see what's on the other side but I'm guessing the government is going to announce measures soon or something.
I'm all for debate but it's very strange that every major outlet is pushing multiple dog horror stories every day.
terryjuicelawson@reddit
You can blame XL bullies for basically all "dog horror" stories mostly as they have been bred to maul and kill people. They really have a duty to report when this happens rather than cover it up. It is like saying after a tiger attack they would be "anti-cat".
BelowAverage355@reddit
Will show. But these aren't about attacks, they're scare pieces talking about dogs, bully and otherwise.
BillWilberforce@reddit
What anti-dog rhetoric?
All I've seen is people annoyed with bad dog owners who don't clean up after their dogs or leave bags of poo hanging from trees.
Or alternatively being anti XL Bullys. Which only exist for dog fighting and can turn on anybody at any time.

FFS. All the down votes. People will deny shit didn't happen even when you give them proof it did.

Are you denying that BBC released that segment? Are you serious? It’s everywhere.
originalcinner@reddit
Ohhhhhhh I get it!
April 1st. You got me.
BillWilberforce@reddit
I'd hardly call a 50 second question anti-dog propaganda. Not long ago the only "shops" that non-guide dogs were allowed into were pubs.
Altruistic-Mud9413@reddit (OP)
I said rhetoric and that’s exactly what it is. I’ve seen other similar segments from them recently too.

You'll be referring to a news article about an XL Bully that killed the owner's 68 year old grandmother? The dog was specifically bred to fight other dogs, largely for criminal cartels to make money with gambling and bought largely by people who want their dog to fight other dogs or act as a fashion accessory so people will be scared of the owner and think they are virile or fashionably butch. (Oh dear, was that too anti-people!)
Then, inevitably, comes the unwanted, leftover dog who is not vicious enough to fight successfully, or whose owner has turned to less time consuming and less expensive fashion accessories where they don't need to get up early or find money to pay a vet.
Sadly, even if the good Samararitans who take on these poor dogs have both the home environment, expertise, physical strength and calm, even personality to deal with them, as soon as that rescuer needs hospital care or a holiday or has family in his home and a baby makes a sudden shriek or someone shouts at the wrong moment the tragedy occurs. You notice that the owner in that news article had bred his dog, and the puppies looked true enough to type for it to appear that the breeding was deliberate. That breed of dog with puppies, an elderly, temporary guardian and the tragedy was not an accident but an inevitability, though not the fault of the dog. No, I dont think the article was anti-dog, but anyone who deliberately breeds one of these dogs is.

Seems like a reasonable discussion to have? Some people want places to be more dog-friendly, others think it's gone too far. Why is it so sinister to draw attention to the debate?
Altruistic-Mud9413@reddit (OP)
What’s a dog free zone? Streets? Neighborhoods? Cities? Countryside? Entire country?
fingerberrywallace@reddit
You must know that most people who hold the "it's gone too far" position are concerned about dogs being in restaurants, shops and the like, not streets.
Altruistic-Mud9413@reddit (OP)
That’s not what it sounds like at all to me.
fingerberrywallace@reddit
That's just some culture warrior getting worked up about the BBC thing you mentioned earlier? You might as well have provided a link to your own thread.
Altruistic-Mud9413@reddit (OP)
I’m referring to this in case anyone hasn’t seen it.
