This is one reason why I tell the GenZ’s who say that they wished they lived or was old enough in the 1990s that they wouldn’t last 30 seconds there. The humor in movies/tv shows were different and perverted back then

Beavis and Butthead is not an example of this, I'm 19 and grew up watching it from the time I was 4. Networks might not allow some of the stuff they did in older seasons, but that's not really a GenZ thing, that's just networks and parents putting tighter restrictions on things for whatever various reasons. Sure, TV and Movies might be different and censorship on sites is harder, but that barely changes anything. On social media I randomly come across gore at least once every month or two and can find some genuinely insane people without even trying to look, and none of it is fiction. The news is still on and hasn't changed much in terms of the topics they cover (to my knowledge, I suppose), TikTok has a big community of people who just read really disturbing books that are definitely problematic, and people are also at risk of being filmed and harassed constantly due to the prevalence of cameras and social media. Also a lot of GenZ has seen a good amount of 80s and 90s movies, kids in my class in highschool would talk about "older" movies and shows regularly.
I'm not saying it's worse or better now, I don't really care. I just think this is a really random take for Beavis and Butthead of all things, and you used a bad example. Not trying to be aggressive if it comes off that way, considering the big paragraph

I wanna add actually, even then Beavis and Butthead got in trouble in one of the original airings bc a mom accused the show of influencing her young son to set a fire; thus removing any mention of fire from the show, adding a warning before it aired, and pushing the time slot back further in the day

Gen Z aren't as soft as you may think. Those kids grew up with unrestricted internet access and saw shit like beheadings in middle school, plus,I'm pretty sure shows like South Park,Family Guy and Rick and Morty have told edgier jokes than Beavis and Butthead. I love all those shows but I'm pretty sure there's no way something like modern Family Guy would've flown in the 90's

I still don't know why the older generations think they're "tougher" than gen z. Humans are relatively the same at the end of the day no matter what generation they're a part of. The Ancient Egyptians were the same as us, just had different technology lmao. All the gen z stuff are stereotypes too, just like they were with the millenials

Yeah this is some pretty hardcore shit

And you pick the most tame joke you could.

The 90's were soft asf, kids nowadays can find an ISIS beheading on their tablets.
