I found some considerable amount of money on the streets (Kerekes Utca, 1135) today and I want to give it to the owner. It was kind of drizzling so I have it with me. Is there a way I can find that person ? I left a note on the lamp post with my number but it might get wet. Any other suggestions ? I’m checking the Pesten talátam page in Facebook. I will give if the person tells me the exact amount.

Take it to a police station. They'll take it, plus your name and contact info. If noone goes to the police looking for it, it will be yours legally after some months.

if it's just money then keep it. So many people will take their chances and it's very unlikely that the actual owner finds it. If you share anything then make it as fuzzy as you can and the details are the one that unlocks it. Double guess everything. Hungarians are very opportunistic. Don't give it to the police. I'd say just literally take it with you with the burden of proof on the person.
