I bought a marlin 1894 back when marlin was lower quality. I did that because Henry still hadn't started threading barrels. I ended up with the weirdest frankengun, but I still love it because I managed to fix it up with some wood, red dot, and suppressed .38 is arguably the most fun you can have at the range

I bought one in 2021 and the blueing doesn't hold up well. Hunting it will occasionally see damp conditions, say nothing of humid summers. It has rust spots on the barrel. So that one was made 5 years ago I can't say if they've gotten worse since then
Mine also had a canted front sight from the factory, there was a big burr in the dovetail and I guess the guy making it was like "eh close enough."
