Fuel does indeed naturally fluctuate on the market, and of course the OPEC cartel keeps it artificially high, but in this instance it's completely unnecessary, and everyone is paying for it. Moreover, it's not even at a high point. The more the conflict drags on, the higher it's going to get. An Iran, knowing that this damages Trump, is not going to give Trump an offramp until *at least* the midterms. What remains to be seen is whether they will drag it out until 2028. As well as the ceiling on these prices, because you might not have to wait 20-30 years to see $10.

I explicitly said why they are closing down in California in my post. Because of increasingly difficult to comply with regulations passed by the California legislature. Valero and Phillips 66 (which provide 20% of California’s gas) have shut down operations at their facilities in California. Valero shut down in December and Phillips 66 is dipping out this month. So let’s do the math.. Normal price per gallon was around $5.00… 20% of the manufacturing capacity for the state shuts down.. Prices rise a little over 20%… Hmm 🤔 couldn’t be related..

You're still struggling to share the full story. Let's get you up to speed with some literature. You just don't up and decide to close a refinery, it takes time for the decision. It was made before the regulations were put into place. The same regulations requiring refiners to have minimum storage, due to the swings in fuel prices. If you only fuel in CA and never leave the state means you are paying more than a driver who can move around to other states and pay $2 less in most states. CA avg is $7.50 everywhere else its around $5.50 average price, so Fueling in CA is apparently a problem.
