that's nice, it doesn't sound like it will cause future incidents

Lmao
Intrepid_Bobcat_2931@reddit
hello, I will be your alarm clock for tomorrow morning
BrowningLoPower@reddit
Now that's a crazy idea, well done.
Tiexandrea@reddit
To achieve a similar effect without the risk of life and property, substitute that alarm clock with an alarm clock that, if not quickly stopped, will dial your crush or your ex.
tiptoe_mouse@reddit
I reckon it would work for me the first few times. After that, though, I'd probably be able to extinguish the fire without actually waking up.
Fragraham@reddit
Well, that is a crazy idea. Take my upvote you unhinged pyro.

Put out house on fire vs. Extra 5 minutes of sleep
I know which one I’m choosing! Zzzzzzzzzz
Prudent_Situation_29@reddit
Jeremy Clarkson already had this idea.

Reminds me of my pepper spray alarm clock idea, no description needed
derekclysdale@reddit
Why that's a crazy idea!

a great gift for a twat

I love this idea. It's just the right kind of insanely over the top, without being lulrandumb.

Some people want to watch the world burn...

Having to pee is enough for me.

Honestly, as someone with ADHD who has had no luck with the ten million other methods to get out of bed effectively, I need this.

I have an alarm on my phone that makes me solve a math problem before it turns off. It's not fool proof, but it at least makes me prove that I actually have neurons firing, and I'm not just reflexively hitting off
ijuinkun@reddit
Ya, srsly, I have to use an electric clock that will continue beeping because any clock that stops after a minute or two, I will just sleep through.
SeaToTheBass@reddit
I like those analog clocks with the bells on top, that’ll wake you up if your phone doesn’t.
ijuinkun@reddit
I have one of those, electric instead of spring-powered. It will keep ringing for half an hour if I do not turn it off.

The one I use takes AAs

Get the app called Alarmy

Finally, an alarm clock that matches my motivation level: sheer terror. Guaranteed to wake me up.. And maybe permanently traumatize me.
NaiveZest@reddit
They used to have those but they were internal clocks called nicotine addiction.

It’s bad enough that as a heavy sleeper I’m constantly at risk of losing my job, now you want me to be at risk of losing my house also? 😂
Seriously though, a barely safer modification: what if we built a gizmo that straps onto your foot, and gives you a mild 5V electric shock at increasing current levels into your big toe every few minutes until you wake up?
(I actually tried the vibrating wristwatch thing, didn’t even make a dent in my dreamscape; this is a similar circuit just with electrodes touching the skin instead of a little FitBit size gizmo. And a LITTLE more “oomph” behind it lol)

Given the amount of times I've come home from vacation to find that I forgot to turn off my alarm and it's just been on for a week, I think my house is going to burn down fairly quickly.

Wonderful work

Digital alarm clock with a vacuum chamber containing a piece of antimatter suspended in magnetic field, just big enough to evaporate your city if it touches anything. On alarm event, the AM starts moving to the bottom of the vacuum chamber, and you have about 53 seconds to stop it by pressing a button on the top of the clock. But the AM is not moved to it's starting position yet. The clock can restart the movement and alarm sound random (0..32) times during the following ten minutes, and you have to stop it again by pressing the button. But if you press the button while alarm is not active, the clock glitches, magnetic field is gone, and AM just falls to the bottom of the vacuum chamber.

Room temperature stable hot suace that won't go bad stored next to an alarm clock.
Take a swig of that and there's no falling back to sleep.

Back in the mid 2000's, my step dad would tell me about his younger days in the army where they would use the little Tabasco sauces that come in MREs to dab little bits in their eyes to keep themselves awake on long hauls. I thought he was fucking with me but 20 years later and after having a kid, I've definitely been that tired now.

That's crazy

Extinguish fire
Jump back in bed

I have a young child, and my wife has no sense of danger, so I can speak to how effective an idea like this is. I'm awake before anyone else just so the house doesn't burn down.

i love it. id gift it to an enemy
