I don't regret any of my can purchases, but the Osprey is the only one I don't really love. My index button keeps breaking/jamming, and it doesnt sound particularly great. It's already been RMA'ed twice for the button getting stuck, and it's already stuck again a few weeks later.

I own two Osprey 1.0 45, one 2.0 45, and one 1.0 9, and the 1.0 versions sound nicer to me.
I've never had any problems with the index buttons though, they just plain work for me for the past decade on dozens of hosts with lots of different pistons.
I liked my original 1.0 in 45 to buy a few more.

My original 45 has problems with the indexing lever. Not the lever itself but the little piece it pushes with the teeth. It takes some finagling to get right but it’s not been too bothersome.
I have an Osprey 45 2.0 (as well as a Sparrow, Omega 9k, and Hybrid 46 😬) on back order now

I find it really hard to believe that that thing is quieter than the Shiv. It is way longer, way more expensive, and way heavier, so it better be way quieter, but I feel like old school welded baffle technology just isn't going to beat the Shiv or its ilk, so it feels like something that you'd only get for aesthetics.

I have both. The Osprey 2.0 9mm is quieter than the Shiv, but a lot longer and def heavier (though not crazy heavy since it's mostly aluminum). The Osprey does get pooped on for its performance, but it does have a decent tone. It's not the quietest out there, but I don't think it sounds bad.

Honestly XCAL's $100 is worth it over Outdoor Arms' because XCAL has a way more forgiving timeframe for you to come and pick things up. Given that Outdoor's is a house with "limited vault space," he dings you per week, whereas you have an entire month at XCAL before they start charging you, and even then, it's something like $10/month.

same bro, NOVA Armory is great cause it’s across the office minus is the high fees - XCAL gotta burn a morning or afternoon window to beat traffic but is the way to go to NFA transfers, friends with memberships speak highly of it

Hansohn Bros charges $45 but Xcal $100 is somewhat worth it if you're impatient and want to shoot it while you're waiting for the ATF approvals. I remember the employees were telling me I can take it out the locker and use it at the range during the wait period.
