When I rewatched STG today, I immediately thought I knew that new captain... Cameron
xMisterSnrubx@reddit
Generations was a terrible movie and this idiot as a Captain made it even worse. (note he was fantastic in FBDO) I just couldn't buy him ever making Captain, he had no confidence or command presence at all.
TroyTrekker@reddit
It’s like a museum - beautiful, very cold, and restrictive, where you are not allowed to touch anything. - Cameron describing his childhood

Gosh he was such a pushover on the bridge of the enterprise B. You'd think a captain of the enterprise would be more capable.
Shumina-Ghost@reddit
You put me in command of a new ship and then put the most storied living officer in the entire fleet on my bridge on day one and maybe I’ll be a pushover too.
ZippyDan@reddit
Which is exactly why you'd never get to the point where someone would trust you with the bridge of the Enterprise.
The point is that you'd think getting the Enterprise would require a long track record of proving yourself under pressure.

They say that time off is the fire in which we burn
bdw312@reddit
Yeah...he was also in Spin City with Michael J. Fox, Heather Locklear, and a single season with Charlie Sheen...
StillhasaWiiU@reddit
The answer is Speed.
LowAspect542@reddit
He already saw the airport.
flourishing_really@reddit
And Twister. Roll the maps!
FullMetal_55@reddit
That's being Installed on Tuesday...

Rah rah! Parma senior high! Rah rah!
Warm_Strawberry_4575@reddit
I always thought some stories from his era (the lost era) would be awesome to see. His number one was Sulus daughter.
gravitasofmavity@reddit
I love this idea and am ashamed at myself for never really considering it lol
Warm_Strawberry_4575@reddit
Lots of things happened in the lost era books. The Tomed incident. Rachel Garret on the Enterprise C. Riker on the Pegasus.
ComesInAnOldBox@reddit
She was an Ensign, not his First Officer.
ComesInAnOldBox@reddit
Semi-decent book about her called "The Captain's Daughter," by Peter David.
agent_uno@reddit
Helmsman, definitely. I don’t recall them showing a first officer, but it’s been a while.
Warm_Strawberry_4575@reddit
Sorry. You mite be right. She was there anyway. Would have been a cool way to continue the original timeline.
portlandoregonrain@reddit
He went from high school to being a captain in eight years !
emptiedglass@reddit
His dad had connections.
Feral_Sheep_@reddit
He took a slight detour to get on the wrong bus in Los Angeles.
HTired89@reddit
I didn't recognise him until the following Tuesday.
MordoksVapePen1@reddit
Tuesday…
Garguyal@reddit
When Cameron was in Ribbon Land...
sshevie@reddit
lol I just couldn’t accept him as a star fleet captain because of his role in Farris Bueller
opusrif@reddit
ColdForm7729@reddit
He was in Twister too.
goodtime71832@reddit
I didn’t have an issue with his casting but I have always had an issue with how badly his uniform was fitted, the undershirt looks way too loose and the shoulder strap is to wide, looks horrible.
Alternative-Juice-15@reddit
I learned that in theaters in 1994 lol
hlpmebldapc@reddit
I saw generations as a kid before ferris bueller. When I first saw ferris I said oh that's captain John hairmon!
CaptainRex1983@reddit
Cameron really went far, didn’t he?
agent_uno@reddit
Including Egypt land.
Adadun@reddit
Let my Cameron gooooooo…..
Shiny_Agumon@reddit
Ferris wouldn't have lost Captain Kirk just saying
Tokoyami@reddit
Just know that Connor Roy was interested in Star Fleet from a very young age.
allthecoffeesDP@reddit
Is this satire?
ComesInAnOldBox@reddit
You just now realized that? When I saw it in the theater, when he first came on screen someone in the back yelled out, "call me Sir, goddammit!"
Able_Resident_1291@reddit
How did Harriman even get that command, he fell apart at the very first sign of trouble
darwinDMG08@reddit
Political hire. Looked good for the press, didn't expect to actually be managing a crisis on day one.
Same story with Captain Styles in STIII. The Excelsior class has a bad history with 1st captains.
dvsmith@reddit
Everyone knows that the real brains in the Styles family was his son, Doogie, who graduated from Starfleet Medical at age 14.
dvsmith@reddit
He was buddy-buddy with the Sausage King of Chicago.
It’s all about who you know.
1ndomitablespirit@reddit
Actors appear in other things? Wow!
Ok-Drive-9685@reddit
Did you know that Clarence Boddicker ran the federation for a bit?
IkouyDaBolt@reddit
Nope, but I did know he gave Voyager a Year of Hell.
DizzyLead@reddit
He put his foot in Voyager’s ass.
JGG5@reddit
Wow, somehow he looks exactly the same in [indeterminate future year from the ‘80s] as he did back in the late ‘70s when he lived in Wisconsin.
dnkroz3d@reddit
Today I learned
LaxBedroom@reddit
Star Trek Generations is actually a Jacob's Ladder scenario in which Cameron Fry drowns in the pool and dreams he's a starship captain but even in his dreams his father can't tolerate him driving a good vehicle
bebopmechanic84@reddit
Not even the Nexus could save him.
LaxBedroom@reddit
"Admiral, the miles aren't coming off!"
One-Technology-9050@reddit
They don't come off until next Tuesday D:
Me_be_Artful_Dodger@reddit
They had a great plan, regula station held it in its tractor beam and the helmsman put it in reverse and put a space brick (the ones they keep stocked for whatever reason) on it to hold it in place.
LaxBedroom@reddit
To be fair, the spacedock valet looked a little suspicious when he handed the keys back.
scubascratch@reddit
Well just have to crack open the warp core and roll it back by hand
Kulban@reddit
"Mhmm hmm. This is George Peterson, of Section 31."
Kahnza@reddit
He was fun in Eureka for a few episodes
typicalredditer@reddit
Just had the image of captain harriman revving the warp engines for an hour in a failed attempt to cover up what happened to Kirk
hrimthurse85@reddit
At least he didn't crash the enterprise.
Oh wait ... he did.

He'll keep hailing me, he'll keep hailing me until I beam over. He'll make me feel guilty. This is uh... This is ridiculous, ok I'll go, I'll go, I'll go, I'll go, I'll go. SHIT!
Tough_Friendship9469@reddit
Independent_Shoe3523@reddit
he's going. He's going. He's going.
Hydrax120@reddit
What day does ferris bueller have off? Tuesday?
spazhead01@reddit
His Starfleet training started on Tuesday.
englishpatrick2642@reddit
I like the fan theory that Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day off grew up to become the narrator in Fight Club
MAJORMETAL84@reddit
hahaha! Good catch!
