Hey everyone, moving from west London to Stoke Hammond. Will need to commute to Barnet twice a week for work via car. Just wanted to know what people’s thoughts are on the area?

My mum was born there. It’s a lovely village

Handy shop and post office as well, nice nearby walks, great pub, 👍

The Dolphin is a v nice pub and it’s close enough for some lovely canal walks. Always thought Stoke Hammond lacked a bit of character and charm that other villages have nearby (Stewkley for example) but it’s a perfectly nice place to live I’ve heard

It’s a nice village not a great deal going on though but certainly a lot quieter since the Leighton bypass was built. Good walks out to Soulbury or Canal, Rushmere, Stockgrove and Brickhill in the other direction. Dolphin is nice or walk the canal to the Three Locks.

A thankful village

I go near it every now and then for work so can't really say how it is to live there. However, I can recommend The Dolphin pub and also Rowles Cafe (about 5min drive) for their fantastic breakfast rolls.
