Best game ever. Blizz never touched this level of soul since

Funny enough Starcraft was very popular around these parts too. Still mess around with it, always trying to beat my 9mins45secs time in Jacob's Ladder. Terran v Terran

I spent so much time and money playing wc3 on a lan cafe. It was awesome.
MickCraftGaming@reddit
This is awesome, I love that people are playing Warcraft 3 in the picture and the Warcraft 3 artwork.

I miss those times. When I was 13 I went to compete in a local tournament that was in the big city. I'll never forget that day
DoomLoops@reddit
Can someone ID the games they're playing?
KingOutrageous8723@reddit

the mural of the blond guy looks so stupid to me I actually LOLd when I opened this post.
Capt_Vindaloo@reddit
It looks like something from the warcraft box art someone has painted. Its really familiar but I can't place it.
ZoharAbuSaid@reddit
It's Arthas from the WC3 box
Capt_Vindaloo@reddit
Ah thanks
ArtisticVehicle9653@reddit
Looks like an AoE2 LAN match😊
Savven@reddit
Sorry to be nosey, but I got curious and browsed your profile. Was this in Barbados by chance??
the_jsf@reddit (OP)
You got it. Barbados all the way
Savven@reddit
That’s so awesome, I had no idea stuff like this existed at the time! My mother is Bajan, and I visited family in St James during summer break as a kid. As an adult, I’d love to visit the island and see places like this if they’re still around. It’s a shame I was so young during this photo haha
EarHealthHelp1@reddit
What kind of hardware did you have? Nvidia or ATI? Intel or AMD?
the_jsf@reddit (OP)
Really trying to remember

Ours was the best afterschool hangout. I wiah I had photos. RIP, Luna Park of Bloomington, Illinois.
saraseitor@reddit
I can almost feel myself standing there. It truly brings me back to those early 2000s years!
codykonior@reddit
Did it make money or net loss?
the_jsf@reddit (OP)
tons. There was a monthly account system for regulars and weekly tournaments. I distinctly remember 6v6 in COD map Pavlov hours on end, Also standard internet cafe for walk-ins
codykonior@reddit
Nice.

Oh maaaaan, this takes me back.
I was a frequent customer at one LAN gaming place, which had badass furniture built out of Kee Klamps and black iron pipe, with racing chairs and swing-over keyboard trays. Climbing into the thing felt perfectly cyberpunk. This was before Teamspeak or anything, so audio chat was done over analog headphones and an enormous mess of wiring, with an 8x8 audio matrix switcher. Each station had a row of switches on the armrest so you could control who your voice got sent to. The whole place was in a dimly lit basement, which just added to the aesthetic.
The presence of what appears to be sunlight in your photo is jarring!
