Hi all, for the past year and a half I've been working on a new alternative for reddit that I built myself called Lhama. The idea ia a more simplified version with no hidden algorithm, a basic income of paid communities (where the owner receives most part of it) and something to award a comment (like in the old days).
The project is 90% ready, there are now bugs that I need to fix, and I need some ideas on how to launch with video upload. I didn't find any free way to do it, so if anyone could give me some alternatives.
What was your inspiration for making the project? Did you take any cues or learned lessons from the "failure" of Digg? Is the site entirely custom coded from scratch, or did you use any of the existing FOSS frameworks as a means to springboard off from?
