Which stand up comedians at worth seeing in the UK this year?

I have seen Simon Evans, Jeff Norcott and Mark Simmons this year. All quite different but all were really, really funny.
Who else is worth the effort please?

David Gersch at Hot Comedy in Camden

How do you say you voted for Brexit with out saying you voted for Brexit...
AdorableEmu5386@reddit
Ha! Well said!
ImpossibleZebra4911@reddit
My current favourite is Jin Hao Li.
Also Rob Austin and (if he counts as a stand-up) Joe Kent-Walters as Frankie Monroe.
Liam_Mendes@reddit
John Kearns

Scott Bennett???

Andy Kind!

Sara Pascoe. Saw her a few weeks ago - really funny.

If you can get into a Radio 4 recording of one of their comedy shows, do it.
I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, Just a Minute, Dead Ringers are all beloved institutions.
There's also a lot of recordings of TV shows you can get tickets for - programmes like QI or Would I Lie To You etc. but you need to be quick.

Seeing Rhys James tonight and then again in Sept. He's one of my absolute favourites alongside Dara O Briain (I think tour just finished though) and Chloe Petts (tour ongoing I believe). All 3 never fail to disappoint and I see them every chance I get.
Jazzlike-Basil1355@reddit (OP)
How was Rhys James?
klymers@reddit
So good! Ita wasn't a normal stand up set but it was part of a series I think of comedians giving lectures. He did one about the manosphere and one about fixing the economy.
I love his mix of light-hearted middle class humour and some quite heavy and outrageous things. He was really on great form tonight and I'm so excited for his tour later in the year.
cloggypop@reddit
Daniel Kitson
FizzbuzzAvabanana@reddit
Out of that list a night in sounds good.
Historical_Project86@reddit
For me, Stewart Lee. Also Henning Wehn is pretty good. I like Stewart Lee's whole act though.
FizzbuzzAvabanana@reddit
Saw Henning Wehn last year, he was shite. Up to the interval it was all old stuff, those that came back for the second half wished they hadn't bothered & slowly dwindled off into the night.
ukrepman@reddit
Ive been to see a lot of comedians the last couple of years, and the best was genuinely Judi Love. Didn't really know her but she was absolutely hilarious
Good_Lettuce_2690@reddit
I hope she's more entertaining than her TV appearances because I just find her loud and obnoxious.
ForestRiver2@reddit
Watching Gyles Brandreth flirting with her on QI was. . . uncomfortable 🙈
BadBacksFuryToad@reddit
Sara Pascoe.

coastalrocket@reddit
Ross Noble, he's amazing
SupervillainMustache@reddit
Haven't seen him live but enjoyed his stand up DVDs back in the day. One of the few comics who can just go out and riff for an hour and make it funny.
FlorianTheLynx@reddit
Seconded. His schtick is different than what everybody else does (that I’ve seen at least) and he has me in tears of laughter.
Definitely better experienced live than on TV/radio.
Ecstatic-Low7929@reddit
'Jeff Norcott ' fucking bleak
Jazzlike-Basil1355@reddit (OP)
I’m surprised
LimitUnable@reddit
Al Murray, Troy Hawke and Clinton Baptise…
After-Dentist-2480@reddit
Stewart Lee.
But he doesn’t really like new people coming to see him.
MrSchpund@reddit
And, don’t go and see him if you don’t know what everything is.
nimhbus@reddit
anything. don’t go if you don’t know what anything is
MrSchpund@reddit
He’s said them both; and you, are a racist.
nimhbus@reddit
when did that come in
MrSchpund@reddit
You downvoted me - can’t say anything these days
RemarkableParking434@reddit
I once played a 10 minute clip of his on repeat. Thought it was the whole show.
Littletinyphil@reddit
Ivo Graham, Chloe Petts, Rhys James, Jason Byrne, Hal Cruttenden, Ignacio Lopez all decent.
jwf91@reddit
I personally think it was quite bold for Gary Delaney Larry Dean Laura Smyth to use his full name as his stage name, let’s see if it pays off.
Littletinyphil@reddit
It’s actually them/they
Tasty-Committee-8172@reddit
Saw Sam Campbell (Australian but UK-based) in Greenwich a few weeks ago. I see a lot of standup shows and I legitimately have never laughed so hard uninterrupted for an hour in my life. Could barely breathe. 1000% recommend.
Paul Foot is great too, but he doesn't perform much these days.
Seeing Stevie (NOT Steve) Martin in a couple of weeks, can't wait!
Double-Tune-5835@reddit
Oh I need to see Sam, loved him since Taskmaster.
jwf91@reddit
He’s on the latest series of Last One Laughing and is killing it!
Double-Tune-5835@reddit
Mole people!!
Frostly4242@reddit
I REALLY need to go and see Paul Foot.
Double-Tune-5835@reddit
This year I've seen Seann Walsh and Angelone Vittorio. I've always loved Seann was just so happy to see him. Angelone set was really clever and maybe cos I've not seen much of him before was a really lovely surprise. Would recommend.
jwf91@reddit
It’s Vittorio Angelone! His podcast with Mike Rice kills me, gutted to have missed him when he did his tour show near me earlier this year.
jwf91@reddit
I saw Horatio Gould last year, he was great. Not a regular on panel shows but his star is very much on the rise.
Supporting was Eric Rushton, based in Birmingham but touring the UK currently, very under the radar and very funny.
eatseveryth1ng@reddit
Stewart Lee
After-Dentist-2480@reddit
These days you get arrested and thrown in jail if you say you like Stewart Lee.
AndrewHinds67@reddit
These days...
Active_Doubt_2393@reddit
When did that come in?
Historical_Project86@reddit
You should.
ForesterDean23@reddit
I hear he’s let himself go though . ..
AndrewHinds67@reddit
I'm looking forward to seeing Rhys James.
Questingcloset@reddit
Daniel Kitson
pusopdiro@reddit
I saw Aisling Bea next week. Never rated her stand up on Live at the Apollo etc. but I thought this show was brilliant.
Frostly4242@reddit
Does time work differently for you?
pusopdiro@reddit
*last week 🤦♂️
Aware-Rub2791@reddit
I saw Kyla Cobbler the other week. She’s phenomenal live. It was such a great show - her crowd interaction is one of the best I’ve seen
pluk78@reddit
I've seen a few this year.
Stewart Lee is by far and away the best, but that doesn't really need saying again.
Mike Wozniaks 'The Bench' is awesome. Incredible storytelling that works like a choose your own adventure book, with the audience choosing where the story goes. So clever.
Ivo Graham is very good too, if not as refined.
Ive also watched a couple of recordings of Richard Herrings Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, and thats always a blast.
FiveYardFaded@reddit
I’ve been to so far this year
John Kearns & Pierre Novelli.
And have
Tim Key, Daniel Kitson, Sam Campbell, Eric Rushden, and Nick Mohammed Booked for later in the year.
dvvvvvvvvvvd@reddit
I’d go and see Pierre Novellie, Christopher MacArthur Boyd, or Red Richardson if I got the chance. I’ve seen good shows from each of them on YouTube, so I’m sure they’d be worth seeing live.
FiveYardFaded@reddit
Saw Pierre last night, it was excellent.
Frostly4242@reddit
I have tickets for Pierre Novellie, Tim Key and John Kearns so far this year.
I'd recommend Stewart Lee, David O'Doherty (Irish but performs in UK regularly), Ania Magliano, Bridget Christie, Paul Foot.
seaneeboy@reddit
Depends where you are/willing to travel to but it’s worth checking out the circuit at your local arts centre/small theatre, particularly if they have a regular monthly gig that’s doing well.
Jazzlike-Basil1355@reddit (OP)
Funnily enough, I saw 2 of the 3 at smaller venues
ThirdBorracho@reddit
Stewart Lee and Daniel Sloss
HMP729G@reddit
I saw Greg Davies live the other week. Very much worth seeing #Baggybumholes
Sea_Appointment8408@reddit
I saw him at hammersmith. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!
snowmanseeker@reddit
We saw Foil, Arms and Hog a few weeks back, for a second time, and they were great.
underover69@reddit
Not British though.
jonathananeurysm@reddit
That wasn't the question.
underover69@reddit
Ask a Brit is the sub.
Wasps_are_bastards@reddit
I’d go see Jimmy Carr but not sure he’s touring
JC_vee@reddit
Sarah Keyworth and Romesh Ranganathan are two of my absolute faves I've seen. Laughed so much my cheeks were fully hurting the next days 😁
Wolf-Dagger@reddit
My other half has got tickets for Kevin Bridges in Cardiff around my birthday later this year which I’m really looking forward to.
Amazing-Visual-2919@reddit
It's all very personal taste isn't it ? I like looking out for the lesser known names and going to see them. I can see two or three comics for the price of a stadium comic.
BatLarge5604@reddit
I saw Jimoen earlier this year, I had tears rolling down my cheeks from laughing three minutes in, my sister recently saw Gregg Davies and highly rated his live show too.
