I’m with ya. I love FRTs as a gun guy, but most people on here really don’t realize (or care) about how common shootings already are with switched. Kids are using those things, and people are getting hit and killed all the time. Judges are letting them off the hook at such a rate that I guess it really doesn’t matter at the end of the day, but yeah, it’s mixed feelings for me as a Shield 2.0 owner.

Just being practical. I mean, I get it. I think that argument flies for most things. I’d be completely okay with a permit requirement for FRTs, particularly pistol FRTs. I said it’d be unpopular, but it’s one thing to say it in theory and another to see it on the street in real life. People aren’t convinced until they have to see it in real life. It’s just different, trust me. That’s all I can really say.
I see your points, because in theory they’re 100% correct. But we all know that there are people trying to really hard to get what these things provide for all the wrong reasons. There has to be some point where we can be practical and also not completely authoritarian at the same time.

It looks like this unit replaces the end plate on a slide. Unless the FPC also uses something like that to retain the striker, it may not be compatible.

I'm frt curious and live in a very pro gun state, so I really want one for range days. I just don't know how these are legal, and I worry that the day I get one, the ATF will start beating down doors because reasons and now I'm facing a felony carrying a 400 year minimum sentence.

Some info came out of the Rare Breed lawsuits and they estimates over a million Super Safety / FRT's of various design for various platforms have been sold, going to be a BIG dog and pony show for the ATF to try and round them all back up.

This will fit all models of the Smith M&P 2.0 in 9, 10, 40 and 45 in full/compact/subcompact sizes. Will not fit the 1.0.
