[OC] Adnan Audio Grabber: A simple, high-quality YouTube to MP3 converter for Linux (320kbps)

Hey everyone,
I built a lightweight tool called Adnan Audio Grabber for my Linux workflow. It uses yt-dlp to extract audio from YouTube videos at the highest possible bitrate (320kbps) with a simple GUI for ease of use.
✨ Features:
🚀 Fast & Efficient: Powered by the industry-standard yt-dlp.
🎧 High Quality: Automatic conversion to MP3 (320kbps).
📂 User Friendly: Simple Zenity-based interface to pick folders and URLs.
Check it out on GitHub: https://github.com/ache-memories/Adnan-Audio-Grabber
If this tool saves you time, feel free to support my work via the links in the README. Any feedback is appreciated!

I see AI, I'm out
You didn't build it and you didn't learn anything.

"I appreciate the feedback. While the first version was a draft, I've now refactored the entire tool to focus on technical efficiency using H.265 (HEVC) and dynamic CRF scaling for better quality-to-size ratios. The full logic is now open-source for audit. I'm here to build and improve. Check it out: [https://github.com/ache-memories/Adnan-Video-Shrinker]"

"I understand why you're skeptical. I used AI to help translate and format the post because English isn't my native language and I wanted to sound professional. But the script itself is something I put together to solve a personal need for a GUI workflow. I'm still learning, and feedback—even the harsh kind—is part of that process. Thanks for keeping it real."

Appreciate the effort man! Just be prepared for the hate.

"Thanks a lot for the support, man! I was definitely not prepared for this level of heat, but I guess that’s the internet for you. I'm taking the technical critiques to heart to improve the tool. I appreciate you standing up!"

I'm sorry, it's a 10-line shell script relying entirely on zenity and yt-dlp.. You might be overstating your contribution a tad. Learning is good, but claiming to be the shell-messiah AND asking for money is a bit much.

"Haha, 'shell-messiah' is a bit much, I agree! I never meant to overstate a 10-line script. It’s just a simple tool I built for myself as a content manager because I prefer Zenity over typing flags manually every time. I shared it thinking it might help someone else who likes GUIs. I'm definitely not a pro yet, just a guy sharing what he builds while learning. Appreciate the perspective!"

1) not what this subreddit is for
2) not every upload has high bitrate audio
3) posting your BTC wallet / kofi on a youtube-dl wrapper is a bad look

"Fair points. 1. My apologies if this was the wrong sub for a simple bash project. 2. You're right about the bitrate, it was a technical oversight on my part. 3. Regarding the donation links: I live in a region with severe economic and banking restrictions, so Crypto/Ko-fi are my only windows to the world. It’s strictly optional for anyone who finds the convenience of the GUI useful. Thanks for the reality check."
