Say a programmer has been out of work for 10 years, but has a history as a proven expert in mission critical app support/bug solving/fixing. Age in 60s. C#.Net/SQL/Sql Server/Oracle/EDI.
Hirers - does this applicant type get serious consideration out there in today's job market?
