We’re talking about the time rather than the temperature though, 8am is not early. There are no time limits on residential noise but generally 12pm-7am is considered the time to be quiet, per various council websites

Yeah u/Candid_Beat4463 the general ecological guidance on mowing your lawn is don't do it til late May or early June. Our food system is partially collapsing due to a lack of insects, and waiting til then gives insects chance to breed.

It’s only until June. It just gives the insects some time to establish themselves as the weather warms up. What I also do is mow a narrow pathway through. If you keep up with the rest of the flowerbeds/flowerpots/hanging baskets then the lawn just looks like an added feature instead of being abandoned

Maybe you live far away from your neighbours or have very bad hearing then. They are loud enough to wake me and prevent me getting back to sleep, and based on the comments I'm far from the only one. I find them extremely loud, to the point they disrupt meetings if I am WFH and people struggle to hear me over the lawn mowing. Absolutely no need to be having them out at 8am on a Saturday.

I don't see much difference doing it at 8 or 9 honestly. People are saying you'd be rude or a dh for doing it at 8 but I'd feel equally a dh for complaining about it for the sake of one hour difference. That being said, given how morning dew works and your forecast of rain at 9, it's reasonable to say you'll be cutting wet grass regardless so you may as well just wait altogether.
