Hey r/GunDeals,
Finally released the weighted backplate/rate reducer for the TX22. I am dubbing it the "Tombstone" because I am not creative. It is a 1.3oz weighted backplate/rate reducer that comes with an M4 threaded hole for a charging handle and possibly to add weight (not currently in the pipeline but looking at it).
Instead of just cold black oxiding this in my garage, I decided to send these out to get black nitrided which is why this took an extra month to get done. I care about quality and want these to really last the lifetime of the gun.
I have 90 charging handles and 90 weighted backplates. I tried rit dying the MJF charging handles black but despite using a fuckload of dye they all came out green... so for the first production run I will be including the charging handle for free with each weighted backplate.

Received mine and it's a very nice product! Unfortunately, I think it might not be enough weight to help with running a suppressor and frt. Took it out today and still unable to get it to perform correctly, though it definitely helped with unsurpassed on my tx22.

Is the weighted Backplate supposed to help with the cycling of the gun ?

When you run suppressors and some ammo, extra weight helps with cycling. It also lowers the fire rate so if you don’t have a suppressor it is still a benefit. The TX22 FRT is insanely fast.
I sell a design that is made by ODD MFG that reduces wear to the slide, some FRTs are shaped in a way that actually damages the slide internals and will result in the gun not firing. Some FRT sellers also don’t do the proper finishing process, most people get these laser cut so they come with some pretty insane burrs. They need to be deburred and polished to prevent damage as well. Ultimately, this finishing process is what you’re paying for, so don’t buy any that don’t looks deburred and polished. Mine are both, and I use a magnetic pin polisher to get a nice satin finish on the part as well. Purely aesthetic, but I think it may polish the edges that contact the slide parts a bit more as well.
I’m partial to my own FRT but ODD MFG, despite their hostility towards me, would be who I’d buy from if I didn’t make them myself.

Honestly I have never had any issues running it even without an optic and weighted backplate, I run mine with Aguila HV and it runs like a sewing machine.

Honestly, it is untested and this is the only case where it may present an issue. It will definitely add weight, the question is just if it’s enough weight. I would recommend also adding a reduced recoil spring in addition to the backplate, but it’s possible this is enough weight. It’s very setup/ammo dependent.
