What's the consensus on this vs the 5"? Is the 4.25" even worth it for what you'd likely use this gun for?

5" will have slightly less felt recoil, but this one will return your sight picture faster. If you want a smaller package or think it looks cooler or want to spend $50+ less, then you pick this one. Otherwise 5" is better if you're trying to get into open division at competition I guess if you're looking at the comped 5"

What’s the best option for strictly looking cool at the range? I’ve been looking at getting the ds comp for months now but torn between which model to get. That .75” difference is a lot of length. Some might say it’ll make it too big and we all know the big ones hurt.

I got the 4.25" comp cause it thought the proportions looked the coolest in all the pics and videos I've seen of it. The curve in at the muzzle for the 5" seemed a bit long to me and makes it seem unusually long

EGW ignition kit, EGW flat bottom firing pin stop, Handle It grips, Wolff mainspring, Colt leaf spring, WC plunger spring, Underworld Arms recoil spring
makes this an absolute tack driver, zero malfunctions.

Shoots well out the box, but swap out the grip with a prodigy grip, then do a bit of sanding/polishing and this gun becomes excellent.

The disconnector ramp is very angular and the gun hangs up a bit on it. You can get some sanding sticks and/or use a dremmel to file it down to round it out.

Not really. Quick metal polish on the disconnector ramp and the feed ramp worked wonders on all of mine. I’ve had 3 of these now. Polishing the disco ramp and adding an EGW kit makes these punch way above their price point
