Napa or AutoZone for car batteries?

I’m gonna be needing a new battery for my pick up and I’d like to know where you’ve had better luck in purchasing one between AutoZone or Napa. Thanks in advance!

Given the choice between these two, id go Napa if there was a Napa commercial option for the battery you need. Otherwise, shop price and warranty and base it on that.

I believe Autozone are Johnson Controls, NAPA when I worked there 5yrs ago were made by EastPenn/Deka. After their recent warranty changes I went to Walmart for my last one. About $100 cheaper for an AGM and a far better warranty. Added bonus. When traveling, if a battery dies, Walmarts are everywhere, open longer hours and 7 days a week.

Why not Walmart? Better price, same quality battery and platinum Walmart batteries come with a 4 year warranty.

Sam's Duracell made by Deka. Otherwise, Walmart is as good as any other. Costco has Interstate but they've gone downhill in recent years

They're all made by the same 2-3 companies. Costco and Walmart are usually my go to for price/warranty.

Johnson Controls makes something like 90% of automotive batteries. O’Reilly, AutoZone, NAPA, Walmart — same battery with a different sticker.

While it is true that most batteries are made by the same manufacturer(s), different stores will have different quality, of the same exact batties made by the same manufacturer. The different stores/brands may have higher, or lower tolerances/thresholds that they ask from the manufacturer. Also, of course the different stores will have different warranty, replacement, + policies as well, so watch/compare that........ Batteries of ALL brands and types have gotten worse imo. I usually try to buy Interstate batteries, (above still applies imo) but, have also had a Walmart battery years back, that they don't make anymore, that worked and lasted above and beyond what it was thought to, or expected to. I'm 48, and a self proclaimed car/parts guy, but honestly feel like All batteries, are a roll of the dice at this point. Sorry for the Non help, but I thought I'd throw my OPINION out there. 🤷🤷👍
