I didn't realize is was Mike Rutherford until I picked it up on vinyl in like 2004 or so. Was also around the time I got super into Peter Gabriel era Genesis so was a pretty wild discovery! I love this album.
Either before or after Phil Collins left Genesis I believe Rutherford was trying to persuade Paul Carrack to replace him; however, Tony Banks shut him down wanting to avoid Mike & the Mechanics Part II, which I get.
Great song. The video is the epitome of '80s cheese/silliness, and obviously the lyrics are very Cold War-inspired, but it's still a great song to blast.
