Your wording made it seems like he didn't make it, so glad to see that's not the case. I was worried for this bro.
Curious-Basket-7934@reddit
Sis or bro
Predictable-human@reddit
I've already said this in another thread with another subject, but bro these days is practically considered gender neutral.
Curious-Basket-7934@reddit
So is sis, Sis.
Mobile-Monk-104@reddit
Update: Health conditioned worsened, lower breath frequency, didn't move.

MaterialBasket2193@reddit
he is swimming again! :)))
Efficient_Log_8084@reddit
Update: it got stuck again.
elekrok@reddit
Actually it stranded again yesterday.
Sqib000@reddit
Everyone cheers, but I dont think the whale will live. I think when these massive creatures are on land, even while technically in water, their organs inside get crushed bc there is no bouyancy. I hope I'm wrong.
Matar_Kubileya@reddit
Also, there are some indications that the whale was already dealing with some sort of severe illness.
Clinically-Inane@reddit
Are there? As far as I knew the exact opposite had been reported— that the reason they were so adamantly determined to get him out into the deeps again is because he was so healthy and there was no reason to let him die
Sqib000@reddit
NOAA fully disagrees, and prepare to see this whale wash back up soon, dead w shark bites post mortem.
Clinically-Inane@reddit
This whale wasn’t trapped “on shore”— they mean that as in beached, as in fully or almost entirely out of the water, and that’s not the case here
Note how they use the wording “out of water.” This whale was never out of water; his dorsal area was partly exposed to the air but he was never out of water
He’s stuck again though, on another bar with his dorsal area barely exposed as of an hour ago, so things aren’t looking so good
Sqib000@reddit
Omg stop. The whale was on the sand. Not floating free. Just bc it touched water means nothing. His organs got crushed, he never was going to survive.
Clinically-Inane@reddit
oMg StOp 😮💨
Nah, because I like facts and the fact here is that there’s a massive difference in survival rate between whales stranded out of water— like on beaches— and whales stranded mostly in water, like on sand bars. The screen shot you shared is directly referring to the first instance, whether you want to admit it or not
Sqib000@reddit
Yet he's stranded again, this perfectly healthy whale. Hmmm. 🙄
Clinically-Inane@reddit
He’s been in the Baltic Sea for a hell of a long time now, he’s extremely disoriented and even if he was completely 100% healthy (which we know he isn’t) he’d likely be having a difficult time orienting himself and avoiding getting stuck in such shallow water
Sqib000@reddit
So in your world, he is a perfectly healthy whale who just got lost - twice and laying on the sand had zero impact? That's rich.
Clinically-Inane@reddit
“Perfectly healthy” “laying on the sand had zero impact”
I never said any of that and you absolutely know it
Sqib000@reddit
Nope, that's you hun. No internal damage, you diagnosed him from the internet. I saw it.
Clinically-Inane@reddit
mmkay ✨hUn✨
I did not say anywhere that he had “no internal damage,” I think you’re literally confusing me with someone else you were arguing with because I haven’t even commented on internal damage in any way
Sqib000@reddit
You lie too. So there's that. 🙄
allaboutgarlic@reddit
That will 100% not happen. No sharks in the Baltic except very rare visitors.
Sqib000@reddit
Fish bites then 🙄
Dayblack7@reddit
His skin is very damaged from the low salinity and he has a ghost net in his mouth, that could obstruct his esophagus. And he has to be guided all the way into the Atlantic, where the Salinity is higher, so he might not make it.
The good news is, that his inner organs getting crushed isn't really a problem. There has been a bigger whale stranded fully on land for 5 days that havs survived.
BoarHide@reddit
Whatever happens, and I know how macabre this sounds, it’s better if he ends up in the open sea. If he lives — wonderful! If he dies, at least in the open ocean he becomes a whale fall event and feeds and entire ecosystem with his sustenance
Sqib000@reddit
Yep. Whale fall, but should only come after a long happy life of at least 100 years
Sqib000@reddit
No, you cant determine that in ANY WAY. can you see his organs?
Sqib000@reddit
I did look up my bouyancy info, and I was right, their internal organs get crushed. All the recent geomagnetic solar storms can throw off their navigation too.
CricketDazzling7123@reddit
That's true... That's why I wanna build the HAS (Hydro Aero Sledge) it lifts the whale like he's floating in the water. I hope I can finish my prototype soon. I really want to bring this non-profit project to the people.
SnooRobots1169@reddit
What’s happening is cruel. The said it’s seriously ill. This is why it’s stranding. It has re-stranded. Hopefully this time they do the right thing and put it out of its misery
WhippiesWhippies@reddit
What is with this title?
Clinically-Inane@reddit
I would cut them some slack, English may not be their first/best language
WhippiesWhippies@reddit
I'm talking about the extra spaces and random capitalizations.
Clinically-Inane@reddit
The same thing would still apply
Lemmyisthenewreddit@reddit
Jeez get a grip. All they said was the title makes their eye twitch.
Clinically-Inane@reddit
And all I said was to cut OP some slack, why is that offensive?
WhippiesWhippies@reddit
No it wouldn't.
EsoitOloololo@reddit
That can’t be. A 15-meter humpback weights two or three times that.
Tardisgoesfast@reddit
I understood it was a juvenile.
CuriouslyImmense@reddit
It makes me so sad what humans have done to the oceans and these beautiful creatures.
