SS: I've been a long time watcher of Thunderf00t, a [British Chemist and Research Scientist](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderf00t) and his debunking videos and he sparsely touched on climate change in the past. So I was happy to see him do a cursory explanation and short history in his fashion of climate change and in a way I haven't seen before. Nothing groundbreaking, but a good video nonetheless.
I'm not subbed either and he is suggested to me also.
I don't like him, but he is very intelligent and presents some good videos. He's got a PhD in Chemistry.

I remember his position being against a certain kind of performative, sex-negative, feminism that primarily benefited white upper class women. Been years since I've seen any of her videos but Sarkeesian's arguments were very lazy and shamed both men and women for enjoying sex. It was also clear she was attempting to critique material she was barely familiar with. She's just a very unserious person who deflected all legitimate criticism as misogynistic attacks--which was helped by the fact she was receiving quite a bit of that as well.
Nope. I see people say that a lot though. He does like to argue so I wouldn't doubt that he probably engaged in some such argument. Never seen him whine though. He's a pretty mirthful guy and usually right.
I wish it were true. I was trained in science, although it was decades ago. There are only very precious few authentic science channels and TF is one of them. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
Doesn't that go both ways? Aren't you disregarding his scientific message because someone told you he's mean to girls? Don't disregard a scientific argument just because you heard that he maybe said some things you don't agree with.
Or, if he actually said something that is meaningfully offensive that should make people reject his science, please show it to us.
Where am I arguing against the science? Strange argument. Why are you campaigning so hard for a person with such awful views? Doesn’t that give you pause? What other groups does he view as lesser? Will his climate solutions be fair, or may they be biased against certain others?

Not a single one of you people has been able to demonstrate a single one of his awful views, so I'm guessing there's a concerted effort by Christians and bad scientists that he's humiliated pushing this narrative.
You’re fighting ghosts. No one is arguing the science, but the messenger. I’m fully on the ‘we are fucked right now’ side of the climate argument. Focus
TF has a rare talent to explain complex phenomenon from first principles which is what makes him special on Utube. He is also a working PHD scientist. He has debunked scams that people have poured hundreds of millions of dollars into. That includes public funding for scams. That also makes him the opposite of the 99.99% of other "Science" channels that thrive on hype and "See how X will change everything!" videos.
Just for the record I'll attempt to briefly go over the controversy because nobody here seems to be interested in doing so. About 10 years ago Anita Sarkeesian of GamerGate fame chose to use her 15 minutes of fame to run a KickStarter with the goal of making Feminism in Gaming videos. She got 160 thousand USD and ended up making 4 videos of her talking about the issues in front of the camera. Somehow TF got a hold of that and got really triggered and made a bunch of cringe videos on the subject. Anita then chose to go for the tribal "Women gamers are being attack on the internet" trope which brought TF into a wider conflict with Internet Feminist personalities over subject like Sexual Dimorphism in Humans (which is a hot topic because it could potentially point to in-built difference in abilities between sexes).
After some intense bickering TF stopped making any feminism related videos and hasn't done so for over 10 years.
Not that I've seen. People keep saying this, but nobody posts an example.

Not that it is really remotely relevant to this video. He's an actual working scientist with a fairly prolific bunch of research and work on his resume making scientific arguments and explaining them.
Dude I have literally watched nothing but Chris Hedges videos on a wiped browser over a VPN and immediately been recommended Ben Shapiro.
You have nothing worthwhile to say and no actual point that you're refuting, just vague mud-slinging.
Thunderfoot was super into Gamergate and criticizing Anita Sarkeesian. He’s removed a lot of his more offensive videos by now, understandably. How else would anyone even think to take him seriously?

I haven’t come across any, and I watched his feminism videos. All his opponents say that but don’t actually quote anything concrete.
It smells of a simple hit job because they don’t like him.
Not just women (although that part is *really* bad but somehow outside of what he’s claiming to be), but he’s pretty much systematically attacking straw men.
He actually covered that completely and explained why, even if we stopped burning fossil fuels completely right now it wouldn't be enough. He also addressed why carbon capture efforts are essentially futile at the moment.
I understand that, but not cutting emissions to go along with other measures is not a viable solution; and I suspect that he might end up there in his subsequent videos.
He doesn't say anywhere that we shouldn't cut emissions. One of his main points is that we should have cut emissions when Sagan, who he repeatedly includes in the video, testified about climate change before Congress in 1985 if not before.
