What should I do?

How is the mast step bolted down? How is your gooseneck attached? What is the pin in your gooseneck made out of? What material are all of the fasteners on all of the hardware attached to your mast made of? How is the stainless rigging attached to your mast? If tangs, how are those stainless tangs attached? If j-hooks, what are the backing plates for those made out of? If welded tabs (you mostly only see those on some specific multihulls), what are the clevis pins securing your rigging to those tabs mase out of? If stemballs, the stemball cups and heads bear directly on aluminum. How are your spreaders attached? How is your masthead attached? How are the sheaves attached to your masthead? What material are the pins they are riding on made of? The toggles that are almost certainly found at your masthead, what are those made of and how are they attached? What fasteners are securing any lights or electrical components to your mast? Are there any winches located on your mast? How are they secured down? How are your boom fittings secured? How about any hardware there? How is your mainsheet attached? Are there any bails, cleats, strap eyes, or fairleads? What are the internal components of your outhaul made out of or secured? How are the sheaves in your boom ends secured? This is based on having seen, inspected, and working on many hundreds of aluminum masts from brand new to more than 60 years old. I work closely with a variety of spar builders as well as rigging component manufacturers. If you have an aluminum mast, you 100% have other metals in direct contact with that aluminum.
